They work, but keep them away from trees bearing fruit or your traps will be ignored.
I filled the bottles with a mixture of apple juice and sugar water, after installing the funnel, and it worked. I found the funnels easy to install. This setup does catch wasps - and flies too. The problem? The wasps like my fruit trees - apple, peach and more - better. I can't put the bottles near the fruit trees or the wasps ignore them in favor of the actual fruit. ( I almost removed one star because of that, but it's not the funnels fault.) I placed the bottles far away from fruit trees and the wasps and flies found them. I feel the two most important points are: one, use the right bait which may mean experimenting and two, location. Do not place them near other things that attract your victims. I have a big fancy expensive wasp trap with multiple baits that never caught ANYTHING. These funnels were a much cheaper and a more productive alternative. I expect them to really start collecting wasps on a grand scale once the trees no longer have fruit. These are reusable too. Either remove the bottles cap and empty the bottle or remove the funnel and attach it to a new bottle. (I use a new bottle and toss that nasty old bottle full of insect corpses into the trash burning pit.) Also, these work just as well as those bag traps that you must throw away should they fill up with insects. For just a slightly higher cost than buying just two of those bags, you get six funnels that are reusable.

Trash
Don't waste your money. Product does not work. No matter what bait you put in the bottle, the bees do not go to it. Sure. You may get two or three a day, but that's not considered progress to me when you have a huge yellow jacket issue

Device itself works, recipe doesn't
As far as the actual plastic piece itself, I give that 5 stars. If you cut the slit in the plastic bottle even somewhat close to the correct size the funnel clicks into place. I like to cut a slit on both sides and put 2 funnels opposite each other. This also allows me to stick a long screwdriver in through one side at a time and push the plastic on the other side to really seat the other sides funnel down against the bottle. However the recipe did not work whatsoever for me. I tried the first 3 weeks with the meat and then swapped bottles. The next bottle I tried 3 more weeks without meat and I did not catch a single wasp that whole time. I put the bottle hanging from a post about 5' off the ground and about 6' away from my minibarn. That minibarn is infested with black paper wasps and mud daubers and 25' away the other direction was a yellow jacket nest, and yet I didn't catch a single one of any of them. I did however catch several flies and a bunch of moths. So the recipe brings the product down to 3 stars. I'm still searching for a better recipe to use.

They work
They worked. I caught a lot of bees/wasps.I used a simple syrup recipe for my bait. They were not as way to install as stated. I had to tape it down to insure that it would not pop off the bottle.

Works better than I expected, but cleaning is gross
These Fatal Funnel traps mount easily in a standard 2-litre soda bottle. And depending on what you use for attractant, the hornets (and even some flies) are fairly eager to enter, but can not get out. I found a mixture of water, fruit juice, slivers of meat, and a small amount of dishwashing liquid works very well.I glued the bottom of the bottles (E-6000 glue) to some scrap wood so wind doesn't tip them over. And, I painted the sides of the bottles so we don't see the meat scraps the dead bugs. But cleaning the bottles is repulsive. That is, with that labor invested in the bottles, I don't simply throw them out. I go to the corner of my lot and drain the gunk out. But to prevent that stuff from simply attracting more hornets, I drain through a cloth and throw the cloth & the solids in the trash.

Works great and very easy to use.
I have had great success with my traps and today was my very first day using them. I put my first trap out around noon and after work I checked on it. There were so many dead wasps in the juice that the remaining wasps could safely stay on the side of the bottle or stand on the bodies in the juice. If you ask me, that is working better than advertised. I'm not sure why some people said putting the traps together was difficult, you simply cut a 2" cross in the bottle and push the Fatal Funnel in and poke some holes in the top of the bottle to vent the smell. That is literally all you do, and it is extremely easy. You also mix 2 cups of apple juice and 1/4 cup sugar which takes about two minutes. I added a couple drops of dish soap based off another review, and I got to say I think it helps. I watched one wasp barely touch the water with his butt and then he was pulled in and drowned quickly. Anyway, I have had great success with these traps, just follow the instructions. I used the recipe in the package, added a couple drops of soap, and added a slice of hot dog to the spike on the front of the Fatal Funnel.

Fatal flop, at least for me with wasps.
I thought given the affordable price and the positive review already posted, i'd give this a try on my patio. I have a small trex porch that comes off of my sliding glass door that leads to the patio. Wasps are always going in between the trex boards to build nests. I tried both formulas recommended and placed the traps right next to known wasp nests. I still have yet to catch a wasp after more than a month. Haven't had any hornets so i'm not sure how well it would work with them. Mold will accumulate on the liquid after a couple of weeks. If you have success with the trap be sure to change it every so often.
