Could have been a disaster. Rubber/Plastic lodged in dogs throat
The "bone" is made out of plastic/rubber. My 35lb dog managed to rip off a small piece of the plastic and it ended up lodged in her throat. She was coughing/gagging for a few minutes before I could pull it out. Luckily I was home at the time. I IMMEDIATELY threw the toy away. Never again.

Not too small at all!
The media could not be loaded. Based on some reviews we were not sure our puppy was gonna like this bone and being that they were labeled "extra small" we thought they'd be super tiny but in reality they're perfect for small to medium sized dogs. Our 3 month old chiwinnie puppy absolutely loved these. The deal is great too. Can't go wrong with 2 bucks and change as an add on item. We bought 3 and will be getting more on our next order.

A staple in my house
My dog loves anything Hartz bacon flavored. She is obsessed with the balls and the bones like this nubby bone. The quality is okay for my sharp toothed super chewer. She definitely mangles the plastic and gets some of the colored plastic nubs off but she isn't interested in eating the plastic. Even if she did eat the tiny nubs, they're small enough that they should pass through my 80lb hound without issue. The bone definitely keeps her teeth clean and her hyperactive brain engaged which means she is too busy to be a bad dog.The Hartz bone is a bit more loved than nylabones and for our dog family it's safer than roasted animal bones and rawhide and horns and yak cheese. My dog consumes most animal bones too quickly and breaks dangerous shards off. Animal bone chewing is actively monitored in our house but the Hartz bones are allowed to be chewed unsupervised anytime we're home. At least when she gets nubs of the Hartz bone they're consistently small and mostly smooth plus she's largely uninterested in ingesting them.I wouldn't recommend this to everyone but these bones are a staple in our house. Use your own judgement and watch your dog when you first give them any toy (it's fun to see their excitement but also you need to make sure that the toy is safe).I will keep buying these as they get worn out. The price frequently fluctuates so do your homework before purchasing. The colors are random but we mostly seem to receive orange bones. The large and extra large are both appropriate sizes for my 70-80lb dogs. 80lb dog pictured with the large size bone.

The dog loves these
Honestly, what more can you say about a dog chew bone? My dog loves these. She is a 24 lb cocker mix who loves to chew. She gets a new one of these and heads for her favorite spot on the bed and begins to chew and chew and chew. These do not last forever with an "avid chewer," but they do last several weeks before we take the last inch or so away from her to keep her from trying to swallow it.The digestible stuff in the middle seems to do just that, and the outer, nylon bits, pass right on through with no troubles. As inexpensive as these are, if she were to go through one a week, that would be fine. However, she takes about three to get one to the "take away" point.

My power chewers love them
My dogs were chewing their toys apart, and with a new <1 year old shelter rescue who loves chewing, toys were going fast. They went from having a basket full to just tennis balls and a large rope in 1 month. I bought 2 of these (along with other different toys) and these are the most durable of the lot! They've been chewing for about a week on these, and even with constant hard chewing, they're barely changed shape at all (of course there's tooth ridges and all, but still super noticeably a bone shape and not missing chunks like previous toys). For reference, I have a 5 year old, power chewer GSD (German shepherd dog) mix of 60 lbs, and the 10 month old, power chewer collie mix of 30lbs. Definitely will keep these in my arsenal!

Great chews for tough jaws
I have one 20lb terrier and one 60lb retriever who love these. They only have them during kennel "rest" time. They are good for their teeth and gums and are nearly impossible to destroy. Dropped one star because the little dimples on the "bones" do make a mess everywhere but I don't worry about ingestion because they are so tiny, no bigger than a grain of rice. Vets are beginning to say how damaging and bad for digestion rawhide chews are for dogs, so I feel better giving mine this kind and it keeps them occupied all through "rest" time. They don't eat them, just enjoy the chewing. When they get yucky looking, I replace them with new.

My dog loves these chew bones
He spends a lot of time with it but takes a while before I'd consider it to chewed up for him to continue so I always buy two or three so he's never without. I found after Christmas is a good time to buy as the price drops as sellers clean out their stock. I think 3 will last a year or more. He's been chewing the current one going on 4 months and thats about time to switch it out with a new one as the ends get kinda ragged after a few months.UPDATE: I have a Dremel grinder I use to smooth out his nails like the pet store does and found I can also use the Dremel to grind down the sharp nubbie ends of the bone, thus making it safe to use again. There's a limit of course but I can get at least twice the use out of the bone. Now he's got 3 of these laying around and plays with all 3 of them.

Food flavored plastic did not work out so great
My dog was a chewer. We live in the mountains in TN and she showed up one day. We couldn't find her owners and so took her in as our own. Being young and new to being in a house by our judgement she was a bit destructive so we got this for her to take out her chewing desires. It held up okay but the texture ended up being chewed off leaving small plastic balls for us to clean up and worse still my dog ate some because it is flavored.Maybe for a smaller dog who chews less and is smart enough to not eat plastic this toy would be fine. But my big chewie dumb dumb managed to push it past it's limits. I would not buy again and could not recommend.

NOT for aggressive chewers!
Bought for a one year old Shih Tzu dog who is an aggressive chewer. Nowhere in the reviews could I find a description of whether the dog could eat/chew the bone down to nothing. But I bought it, and gave it to her, and after an hour the white nylon areas of the bone were completely chewed up, hard & scratchy, and she had bleeding gums. Never ever would I buy this product again since it cut up her gums like that. I was also worried that she might swallow the hard white parts of the bone and choke on them.

Choking hazard or potential obstruction to digestive tract.
Our little 15 lbs Shishon had this destroyed in about 30 min. But she had fun. Had to take it away and throw it out as she was able to bite off dangerous chunks that could have resulted in a potential health hazard or perhaps even worse. Stay away as this product could hurt your loving pet.Choking hazard or potentially could cause an obstruction to digestive tract.

NOT for Puppies - Dangerous - stuck on teeth!!!
My 11 week old puppy shredded the toy in 30 min. Hopefuly all the plastic that i see is on the dloor and not her tumy. Also, be aware the toy' blue spikes gets stuck/locked on puppy teeth - my pupp was so scared and it was overhelming for me trying to figure out how get the toy loose. This toy might work better for small mature dogs- maybe??? I will not buy this AGAIN!

Great Value, Dog Approved
Our dog loves these. They last pretty long, only complaint is she is able to pick off and eat the little nubs, she's a big dog so it doesn't bother me, but may cause issues in smaller dogs. We have bought 3 and they seem to be her favourite toy in the house. Will continue to repurchase as she wears them out. They last over a month which to me is a great value for a large breed dog chew.

Magic, pug cannot destroy
These bones are absolute magic. Our 19lb pug chews up EVERYTHING. We have spent so much money on bones that he destroys in minutes. I don’t know why, but he is not able to destroy the purple, X-small bones and he loves to chew them every night (horrible sound, but he loves it). We immediately bought 4 more of these on Amazon to keep in every room in the house. Will definitely buy more. Highly recommend for chewy pugs!!!
