This is the greatest invention. We love our sweet corn in the summer and this makes buttering it clean, easy and neat.Then you just put the cap on and store it until the next use.

Not only is this a cute lil gadget it is actually so easy it is not real.Kiddos love it and use it on waffles and pancakes as well as corn on the cob.

I ordered this reasonably priced Norpro butter spreader after breaking my more expensive Pampered Chef corn cob butterer. See picture for comparison. Both spreaders work very well for applying butter to corn on the cob. It does get a bit messy, however, with small pieces of corn and silk sticking to the butter and holder, so I wipe the top off with a paper towel following usage. Despite that, I would definitely recommend this Norpro butter spreader for use with corn on the cob.Note: While this may be obvious to most people, it wasn’t obvious to me... The plastic portion that sticks up on the bottom piece is for your fingers to grip. I had been using my Pampered Chef spreader incorrectly with that little part facing up because I thought it was to hold the butter in place.

Holds butter and spreads nicely

I'm not crazy about this. It's a simple enough design, but the square pusher part seems slightly off-sized. Once loaded, the butter greases it, and the lubrication improves functionality. Still, I'd rather pay a buck or two more for a higher quality product, perhaps one with softer material around the edges of the pusher to form a cleaner, tighter plunger.

This item was designed with zero thought to the butter that is supposed to go into it. Simply, it just won't fit! I keep my fridge at a standard 40 degrees Fahrenheit and cannot slide the plunger through the opening that is too small to fit a basic stick of butter. The stick of butter is perfectly square, measuring 1 ¼", but the opening of the butter dispenser is rectangular, measuring only 1 1/16" on the narrower end, requiring you to push hard to get the cold butter to get through the opening and leaving scrapings on the inside of the tube. Honestly, I have no idea how it received any positive reviews. It would've been so simple to make this the proper size. The other design flaw is the very short post to grab the pusher. It is so short you can barely reach it as it works its way down into the tube. 100% trash!

Exactly as pictured. I had another one and after 15+ years , the cap had gotten lost and it started to develop a little crack. So obviously very durable and gets the job done Absolutely perfect for buttering corn; so easy even kids can do

We’ve been using it and loving it. Even cold the butter slides down with ease.
