Worked as advertised, bolted right up and started flawlessly. We will see how the longevity is, so far so good. Would recommend, great price.

My original starter on my 1997 BMW R1100r went out, and after some research I decided I didn’t want to spend $650 on the bmw oem part. I took a chance on the off brand version here and do not regret it! Great customer service as well.

I just installed the starter last night so I don't have a long-term evaluation of reliability. What I can say is this appears to be a well built starter and it fit like the original. I've bought numerous after-market starters over the years that I've installed on vehicles and tractors and there's a good deal of variability in quality. All the castings and configuration appear the same as the original starter on my BMW R1150RT. The only difference I could see was the nut and washer on the lead terminal was plated steel and the original was copper. It's not common to have corrosion issues on the lead terminal anyway and I could have reused my old ones if I had wanted to. On the few starts I've made it sounds good and spins fast.If my opinion changes, I'll update the review. For now it's 5-star. I hate it when people give a 3-star review because they haven't owned it long enough to decide and then never change it. That's not fair to the seller.

i've never changed a motorcycle starter in my life, but following the instructions in the shop manual and taking my time I had it installed in less than 20 minutes. It started right up after I re-attached the battery cable and I just got through driving and stopping and starting again for about 50 miles staying close to home just in case. I'm very confident it will continue to perform well--but only time will tell! I'd buy it again in a minute.

Worked and fit perfectly on my 2001 R1150GS. I just replaced the nuts with copper ones.. BTW, really easy job for anyone looking for the part but still on the fence on DIY

Are you 100% sure that part fits a BMW R110RS 92-01? Because I bout this from you and it DOES NOT FIT. Please check. FALSE CLAIMS THAT THIS IS SUITABLE. You have wasted my time and, unbelievably wasting the planet's resources and emitting CO2 by sending it back to USA!! I live in UK.Update:Amazon cust services said keep the item and the refund. I will try to use the nose of the old motor to allow me to fit it. Bit of hassle hope imcan do it not ruin new motor but now its up to me to work through problem cause by seller sending wrong part. Moral: keep your old starter for spares!

Wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered this. Considering the price of an OEM starter, I wasn't overly optimistic.Boy, was I surprised!It bolted right up to the existing mounting holes and installation was done in a matter of minutes. (It took more time to put the fairing back on than to install the new starter.)I have put about 2500kms on the bike this season and the starter has worked flawlessly.Very impressed.
