Meclizine Chewable Tablets - 25mg - Model 85207 - 100 Count (Pack of 3)

Meclinize goes by many brand names - Bonine, Antivert, Verticalm, Dramamine, and Rugby (this one is the Rugby brand). It's as generic as they come and does what it is meant to do - calm dizziness and travel sickness, motion sickness or whatever knocks your balance off and makes you feel sick.I have MS and am getting over a relapse of optic neuritis (after 3 days of IV steroids and a taper that I am on). Along with the ON issues come balance issues and wicked dizziness and vertigo. The brain is not processing things so well at the moment. I use this trusty little medicine to get me through some of the rough spots - and there are many.I bought a pack of 3 bottles. It was difficult to pass up the deal because the price was so good. I have used these Rugby pills in the past but mine had expired. So I needed new ones. I like the chewable, fast absorption pills because you don't need a glass of water to get them down. The taste is not bad at all. Something like "cherry meets bubblegum". The pills are tiny, they melt quickly with a little chew and saliva (no water is needed for these) and really should be a staple in your medicine cabinet if you don't have it and can tolerate it. Be warned though, Meclizine is sedating in the similar way that Benadryl is and has an antihistamine property to it. The 25mg dosing is right in between the top and bottom of Antivert dosing. 12.5mgs being the least and 50mgs being the top dose. I find that 25mgs is enough to help me feel a little more restful, quiet the spins and restore a little balance and sanity to a relapse.I'm tired though after taking one ... and you might be too. Definitely don't want to mix this medication with anything else sedating like alcohol or Benedryl, etc. Overall though, a great value in generic form that really works.

For the Holiday's I was traveling 9+ hours one way with 4 dogs and two that get carsick. I recently moved and my new vet had never heard of Cerenia (eye roll) so I had to find something else to give the 2. Ranger gets super carsick, even after 5 minutes. This worked well. I can't speak for the flavor but I crushed it and put it in a cheese slice, waited and hit the road. It worked, he never got sick going or coming back. Plus the value received for the price was well worth it.

Looks and tastes just like Bonine. Not the best flavor but better than nothing. Great value for the money and something that should be kept in every medicine cabinet!

Using these for my older dog who gets car sick. They work great!!! He lays down and is comfortable the whole ride! I have to remember to give them a bit before we leave so they are in his system by the time we leave.

Sometime between when I bought these the time before last and my most recent purchase they changed the way they were manufactured, and not for the better. They used to be like a little hockey puck that you would chew. They weren't great tasting, but they were pretty neutral if a bit chalky.The change in formulation, or whatever it is they did to them... they still seem effective for what they do, but they have a nasty chemical taste to them now. Fortunately it doesn't linger long, but a big part of why I bought these in the first place was because they didn't (used to) have that nasty chemical taste of other similar products.

So affordable and every bit as good as the expensive name brand! My adult daughter cannot tolerate car rides, and has been this way her whole life. She takes these before we go anywhere, and you'd never know she has an issue with motion sickness.

for health reasons (balance)

I went to emergency room with vomiting and dizziness so bad I could not stand up. After 30 minutes (and $2,500) the doctor brought in two of these pills. Ten minutes after taking the two tabs, the stomach had settled down and the dizziness was gone so I could leave the hospital. Doctor diagnosed Listeria poisoning and this was all he told me to take. Well, every time I get just a tiny stomach upset, I take two tabs. I have had a special type of bariatric surgery so several times a week when I am eating, I may take one bite too many and start getting very sick to my stomach. I take two of these and am good to go in five minutes. I buy three bottles at a time. I keep one bottle at home and one each in my car and pick-up. I would not leave home without them. Even though the bottle states they are for motion sickness - I never get motion sickness - I use them for any kind of stomach discomfort.
