Excellent Product
Tried this 3Doodler set with other teachers from my school. We loved working with it. It is fun and easy to use. Definitely a classroom plus. We thought of many uses across our curriculum and it is completely child safe. While it gets warm, it is never hot enough to burn the user. It is perfect for any classroom. I tried earlier 3D pens and after I burned myself I returned it. I am ordering extras for my classroom and can't wait to see my students' creations.

FUN
Fun and easy to use, great starter for people who want to get into 3d pens, expensive refills though.

After second use, pen went dead!
I bought this pen for my daughter as aChristmas gift. Battery usage life is very short. During the second use, we were not able to add the second plastic strand. Charged it for 1 hr, and when we turned it pen did not work anymore. My daughter was very disappointed, could not even finish one project.I WOULD LIKE TO CLARIFY THAT I CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER AND HE RESPONDED IMMEDIATELY. I WAS AMAZED BY THE KIND AND FAST TREATMENT AND GOT A REPLACEMENT PEN IN NO TIME.

Bought this as a gift for my little cousin
She loves it! Se is very into arts and craft type activities, so I thought this would be a cool tech item to exercise some of her creative skills. Very cool, is a little tricky at first but once you get the hang of it you can make some cool 3D printed stuff.

3D Pen Provides Hours of Fun
My 7 year old received this for Christmas and she absolutely loves it! She loves all things art, so we were pretty sure this would be a winner, and we weren't disappointed. We have no complaints as it works great, it's easy to use and keeps her occupied for hours at a time.

I'm giving this 3 stars. The pen itself gets 4.5-5 stars. This is a fun toy and it is completely safe in that there is no burn risk whatsoever. It usually works great, but has occasionally jammed and not fed the filament through properly. It's a sturdy pen, though, and any problems we've had with it have worked themselves out (sometimes right at the moment that I would decide it was time to contact the company). There is a bit of a learning curve to the pen, but once you figure it out, it's tremendous fun. The lowered rating for the pen is due to the fact that this thing eats filament like crazy. And the filament is expensive. I don't find that I get the output from a strand of filament that 3Doodler says you will get. My kids blew through the two packages of filament that came with this pen in only an hour. After that, we went online to buy more filament and learned that it is not only very pricey, but the filament colors are rather limited in their availability. If you want certain colors (like purple, for example), it may be impossible to find them. I have yet to find purple filament available for purchase on it's own. I have seen it as part of one of the 3Doodler Start Kits, but my boys don't want to buy something like a jewelry making kit for their 3DoodlerStart. They just would like some filament in the colors that are included in those special kits, but unfortunately, we haven't been able to find it. Anyone contemplating purchasing this should only do so if they can afford to buy the special filament that it requires. You should also take a look at the colors in the "Primary Pow" and the "Fire and Ice" filament packs to determine whether or not you can live with those likely being your only filament color choices available. I've had a hard time finding color choices outside of the ones in those packs.

It was a Christmas present for my child and I received it in January.I checked the stock and ordered it, but it is too.Quality is good. There is no risk of burns because the heat is adequate. It is a product that dissolves in heat, but it does not smell of chemical products.

Broke after 5 days
Started using this on Dec. 25 and by Dec. 29 (with limited use) it already became inoperable. The motor sounded like it was running, but the pen would not work. Cleaned the nozzle and still wouldn’t work. After 5 days of minimal use, this was real disappointing, especially for my 8-year old daughter who specifically asked for this for Christmas. Buyer beware.
