Love!
This waffle maker is super easy to clean and makes the best waffles. The steam from the back helps generate the most fluffy waffles on the inside yet nice and crisp on the outside. So glad I got this for my husband as a gift!

Very frustrating appliance
Switch stopped working! Cooks first round the. Shuts off! Cannot make it go back one! VERY FRUSTRATING AND EXPENSIVE! cooking for 8 people and it only cooks first tray! UGH

All-Clad Waffle Maker
Produces really good Belgian sized waffles and the removeable grates that are dishwasher safe is a real plus. On the downside, The timer can be troublesome. If you add a second batch right after the first is done, you get an error code that will not go away until it cools off and a really big mess to clean up. Also, adding pecans or other fruit really throws the electronic timer off. Sigh... The timer on this unit really needs better programming.

tinny
Bad, shoddy latching system. Easily bent. Taking plate off is easy, but you can only do it a limited number of times before the cheap metal latches bend. Electronics supply a reliable BEEP and you have to unplug the machine repeatedly to get it to proper heat. Junk. Don't buy it.

E Means The Sensor Is Stuck (in case you needed to know)
Only not a 1 star because it works sometimes, when it feels like it, and it's amazing when it does.Hands down the highest utility, easiest to clean, highest failed-brunch rate of any piece of kitchen equipment I have ever bought. This waffle maker came highly rated and was very expensive, but never worked quite right out of the box. At first I thought that it just needed a power cycle, but after complete out of warranty disassembly to experiment, it turns out there is a sensor to ensure that it is shut correctly, and this (I assume, "safety feature"?) continually goes off, causing the waffle iron to error unless you physically hold it shut. Such a feature would be very welcome if it didn't stick constantly and error me into waffle-less brunches while I'm trying to entertain.

You will love this thing!
I’ve made more than a few batches of waffles with this and may need a waffle intervention soon. This unit is not cheap but will make waffles better than most restaurants. The steam it produces and crispy light and fluffy waffles it churns out is impressive. This iron is huge so you better double and triple your recipe, your definitely going to want leftovers to freeze for an easy toaster breakfast. I’ve learned the lock is for storing vertically and not cooking. Not locking the unit prevents it overflowing and again produces super crisp yet fluffy waffles. But still got to read those directions in the manual, this unit is not like the cheap ones at you local big box store. Don’t hesitate on the big price tag, your going to be remembered with this thing and most definitely an appliance that will get handed down.
