Amazing thank you
I broke the head off a screw on my bikes timing cover, I was so irritated and could not get it out of my head. This kit came over night and I simply used the smallest reverse drill, and did not even have to change over to extractor before the screw backed out. Amazing product that I’ve never used before and took less than 5 min to work perfectly. Worth every penny!!!! For those wondering, the machine screw I was taking out was a 8/32 and I had 5/8” thread locked in. These are for very small screws

The extractor bit broke off in the hole! (Beware: $30 gift card offered for product reviews...)
This screw extraction set has a huge number of positive reviews. My personal experience with it has been rather disappointing. When an M8 screw broke off flush inside our HF wood chipper-shredder's rotor assembly, I ordered this screw extraction set. After receiving the set yesterday, I drilled a #3 size hole as directed. The instructions, written in poor English, were somewhat adequate. These are reverse drill bits, so they have to be drilled counter-clockwise and "slowly." The recommended RPM is less than 200, but there's no way you'll know at what speed your drill is actually rotating. I used a Sears 19.2V battery-powered drill set on Low. Would cutting oil help the process? Alternating smaller #5 and then the #3 bits eventually resulted in a hole deep enough for the extraction bit, but it took a good 20 minutes of drilling. I inserted the extraction bit into the hole using the same battery-powered drill set on low and the extraction bit immediately snapped off with the torque set at about 3/4 of the drill's maximum, almost flush with the screw. I couldn't get the extraction bit out. A picture of what's left of that bit is attached. Now, it appears that I'll have to drill out not just the screw but the the extraction bit as well. Ain't that just great?Getting nowhere using a hand electric drill, I removed the rotor from the shredder (which required a gear puller) and placed it in my Jet drill press. Using cutting oil, I quickly wore out 2 of those "15X" drill bits that are supposed to be able to handle drilling into metal using 3/16" and 1/4" sizes. I was only able to make a small dent into the broken off bit. At that point, I gave up and ordered a new rotor from HF.And then, just yesterday, I received in the mail a post-card offering me a $30 Amazon gift card for reviewing this product. COULD THAT BE THE REASON FOR THE HIGH NUMBER OF POSITIVE REVIEWS?

They work
I had a number of M3 flat head screws liberaly slathered with thread locker and with Philips heads that no driver or bit would properly engage. I got three out by finding one off-spec Phillips bit that did engage with no slop, heads were ruined, was going to replace them all anyway. I found this set online with generally good reviews, came in today. I drilled all 4 remaining screws and three backed right out, the supplied drills worked fine, really soft hardware. First one didn't make it, drilled a little too deeply, tore the head right off. So that one gets drilled and maybe the thread remains picked out using dental tools, otherwise gets a tap run in. These are short screws, 4-6mm, and no hardware store extractor is going to work. Flush with the cover plates, no way to grab them with pliers or vise grips. Comes in a very nice locking plastic box, everything is labeled on the foam bit holder. Bits themselves have no markings. Needs some experimentation to see which bit combination works best. Tearing the head off the one screw didn't keep me from pulling the cover, other screw came right out. So I could make the needed adjustment. Couldn't have done it without this set. One star off for no size markings on the bits. But nothing broken, have always broken screw extractors when removing busted bolts.

Handiest gadget ever and easy to use with a hand drill
Saved me a ton of time with a rusted out screw that was stripped. I think everybody needs one of these in their toolbox.

Decent bits, Not great for flat, thin head screws.
Decent set. The bits are relatively cheap and they dont sit firmly in the adaptor causing lots of shake when screwing. The writing in the foam in the package wipes of extremely easily. The smallest bits are not capable of extracting extremely small/fine bits which was my main reason for purchasing. On the positive, these bits fit perfeclty inside an ifixit screwdriver.

Love this kit!
You know when you are almost done with a project and that one last screw doesn't go all the way in and bam you stripped it. Dang it! All stop! Not the first time this has happened to me and no easy fix in sight. I finally broke down and ordered this kit on amazon, arrived the next day. Used the correct size bits for the screw and to my amazement and elation IT WORKED first time out! I was elated! Haza! Now I have this handy dandy little kit for the next time I strip a screw, and yes it will most definitely happen again with my luck. Go an buy yourself this kit, even if you don't need all the sizes now, you will eventually so spring for them all now, you will be glad you did when you are down to that last screw and you strip it and it comes down to going out in your grubby cloths to the hardware store to get that one screw extractor or just trotting out to your garage for the one in your kit. Trust me you will be glad you have it already. Happy Screwing!

May not work for your purposes
Would've gotten 1 star but they are in a nice little case. Sadly, despite indications that it would help with machine screws, it utterly failed to deliver in the case I needed this for.My case, I have an SSD trapped inside an old laptop but the machine screw holding the M.2 SSD in place is stripped. I bought this wanting to drill out the middle of that screw so I could extract it. These drill bits failed to do more than just strip the screw hole wider. A no point did I get them to drill a hole I could use, even when I got angry enough to try a wider drill bit than the screw itself, wanting to just disintegrate the screw in place. From this I would suppose these might work for screws that are much softer metals, plastic, or paper. What a waste.
