Is this a sheer lipstick or is it thick? I am looking for a thicker lipstick. The word shimmer leads me to believe it is sheer.

Truthfully, I would say it's somewhere in between. Definitely has color, but is some what light. For me, it's just enough.

Is this 1 tube of Mac bronze shimmer for $39.00?

I've checked the internet and different department and found they average $19.00

Yes. This is definitely a Frost. It can be worn alone or used on top of another lipstick. I have done both. It is very neutral and I like that. I have been very happy with this lipstick. Susan Southward
