Owl Diaries, Books 1-5: A Branches Box Set

What a great series. My 6 year old daughter and I love reading these every night.

I've been trying to get my 7 year old who has mastered 2nd grade sight words already to read chapter books, but some of the ones I initially bought were too hard and she'd get frustrated. I found these and they are perfect! They're the perfect blend of short chapters, known sight words, and words that she can sound out to decode. She can mainly read these on her own without assistance and can comprehend the text. These are an excellent transition between picture books and harder chapter books, really for 1st and 2nd graders.The illustrations are so colorful and cute and there are speech bubbles between the characters to read as well. The message of each book is positive as well. I have bought a few more of these separately, but this box set is such a deal to get 5 books for $17. They do have a unicorn series like this coming out, so I'll be getting those too. Highly recommended!

Four year old loves all the books in this series (and Unicorn Diaries). It has been so fun to see how the format has inspired her artwork too… she loves to create little pages in the same style. Fun! We read every night.

This is a wonderful series. My daughter was really interested in reading on her own and practicing and when I heard about this series I ordered the first 5. She’s so in love with the characters. And it’s written in such a fun way. She reads to me now and I help her with certain worlds, but I’m really impressed with what it’s done for her confidence and passion for reading. My only issue is how they change words like universe to “owliverse” since she’s still learning. But it’s also taught her how to creatively use words to really immerse in the world of Eva the owl. Super cute, fun series!

I was hoping for a little bit of a challenging read for my child, but it was more like a comic book.

My 7 year old daughter loves to read...thank God! (So many kids these days are zombies, stuck staring at some kind of electronic device). I ordered these books and she couldn't put them down, she loves them. I've since ordered more and she takes them everywhere we go! It's a cute series, easy to read and worth the money.
