What do you mean by authentic? It is a gel used for hair styling. I use it at least 3 times a week and have for several years. It does an excellent job for fine, thin and hard to style hair. It does not leave my hair sticky, just gives it more body.

Hi K! The Kenra Styling Gel 17 can be used on both damp or dry hair. How to apply this product will depend on the style you are going for. If applying to dry hair, you may need more product, versus applying to damp hair, you may not need as much product.
