I don’t often leave reviews but this item has mixed reviews and I hope my thoughts of this bite guard can be helpful. I have had bruxism and tmj problems for many years and had all sorts of bite guards made by my dentist at great cost. The last few years have been the full hard plastic ones that cover all the teeth. I suffer from pain, discomfort and headaches… most days which I have to manage, and sadly, recently been told I have fractured molars which now will need crowns… I can’t help but think that a guard for the front only might have prevented the fractures. Finances are tight and now I have to save for the crowns in a few months’ time. In the meantime I don’t want the fractures to get worse, and I am so glad to have found these (2 in a pack - I hope they last and are durable since I won’t be chewing on them).I wasn’t sure, from mixed reviews but I took a chance as the price seemed reasonable in comparison to the ones I have paid my dentist for.I am so pleased with the results. The first try didn’t quite work - the fit was wobbly and big… but I followed instructions and tried again (you can remould if it doesn’t work the first time)… I used my fingers to shape around my teeth and palate, biting hard on it, and it fits perfectly and feels comfortable. Take care because the plastic comes out very soft and hot (from the boiled water), so swishing cold water before will help cope for the few seconds it takes to cool and set.I have peace of mind that my back teeth are safe now as they don’t / can’t meet. The bite part of it is not too soft or too hard and also nice and thick. I’ve included photos of what it look like before and after moulding (the plastic turns clear).I realise everyone has different experiences on these things - but I personally am very pleased and hope this review might be helpful to someone - it might take a couple of goes to get it to fit well (it probably helps to have nimble small fingers, and to work it quickly, to help shape around the front and palate behind). It will fit as well as you’re able to make it fit - it won’t be like having one cast for you by the dentist, but with some work you can get close. It is bulky but I don’t mind that, as it does it’s job. I also recommend looking through other reviewer’s tips on here… see other people’s experience.It does seem to be easier for some people than for others and I also think most of us who have used devices like these for years know that it can take a little time to get used to… they are never fully comfortable at first but we get used to them and feel the benefit eventually. Actually stops back teeth from touching so no grinding guaranteed!! End of headaches and jaw ache . Will never be without one!

Unlike other mouth guards for grinding/ clenching I have used, the material in this product is very thick and rigid. I had to leave it much longer than recommended in hot water to get the plastic to soften sufficiently to mould. The moulded part leaves my gums sore after wearing at night and there is increased pressure in the front teeth where the rigid bite plate meets the top canines and bottom teeth, so it creates a new pressure at the front by using. It comes with a money back guarantee but the number on the product to call is in the US, so not sure if this applies to UK purchases through Amazon? Very disappointed, especially since this was the most expensive guard I have purchased from Amazon.

I've had a problem for a while with clenching my teeth and this is the second product I've tried. I followed the instructions and there is also a video for how to mold it, and I'd say its worth taking time to do it properly, as although it says they can me molded more than once, I have tried and I don't think it works. The plastic is quite thick and more rigid than another make I tried, but it might be worth persevering as I can already feel there is less tension in my jaw as not clenching so hard. It takes a while to get used to.

Packaging open and not sealed, both guards were loosely in the box.For the expensive price of this guard the packaging should have at least been securely sealed.

It’s definitely saved my mouth from feeling sore every morning from jaw clenching. Way better than usual ones as this is just the front teeth which relaxes the back ones

Lost my dentist made guard so bought these.Not great at all, very soft in hot water so easy to bite though, made a mess of first one, second was ok but kept coming out of my mouth in my sleep!Ended up getting the dentist to make me a bespoke one.

I tried this product out, following the instructions laid out. There is some moulding you need to do to get the right fit, which is fine and easy to follow. For me the product was not adequate, the back part of the guard that sits in the mouth was large and I struggled to breath with it in. I've now thrown it in the bin. The package states you can send back within 90 days for no quibble refund, but unfortunately the product is from the USA and return address is to USA so postage would end up costing a lot.
