On the back of the other reviews, I nearly skipped this. I'm glad I didn't. A couple of points:- The paper is like the paper WHSmith's excellent notebooks had about 20 or 30 years ago: uncoated, thick enough for fountain pens, and white.- The slightly narrower format is a better fit for pockets than a5.- The cover is textured, sturdy and doesn't feel naff.I've been looking for something like this for years. The selection for notebooks today is really bad. Coated paper like Clairfontaine's is unpleasant. Ivory paper spoils the ink colour. Leuchtturm's numbering is a distraction. There are a host of others with paper like a thin grade of cardboard. All I've wanted was something white, bare, uncoated and not stiff. In short a normal notebook for fountain pen use. This, at last, is it. Highly recommended to anyone who isn't caught up in fashionable hype.One last thing. Another reviewer here wonders what plain paper is for if not sketching. Writing and taking notes, buddy. We don't all need stabilisers on our bikes.

Great for journaling, pages are quite thin and writing will show up on the other side if you tend to press down hard when writing, otherwise, great value for money

Better than a Moleskine??Yes. Overall this notebook is exactly the same dimensions as a "large" moleskine. It has the ubiquitous rear pocket & bookmark ribbon.From the outside the black finish has a very similar grain pattern but its glossy as apposed to Matte so depends on what you prefer.The corners are not finished as good as a Moleskine, but the Paper is almost pure white as apposed to the Moleskines off white appearance. It also feels glossierIf you write in Fountain Pen it will show through to the other side, but Moleskines do this too.£4.32 vs £15-20 for a Large Moleskine is a no brainer. I have ordered a few more to keep "In Stock"In my Opinion this is an extremely good value for money notebook

Great size, the pages are not see through which is surprisingly hard to find!

The notebook is reasonable quality for the price but is NOT A5 size but just over a centimetre narrower.It is not a major problem for me but I notice now this has been mentioned in previous reviews so it would be nice if Amazon would correct the description.

feels like suede and pages feel smooth quality ,nice to write on also A5 size,having a band to hold it close is good stops the pages getting all messed up in my bag,also there's a ribbon so I don't lose my page,I really like this book.100% recommend
