4 Sizes to Choose: Large Stone Age Slate cheese boards (12"x16" Serving Platter) with Soap Stone Chalk

Looks promising but like several others who wrote a review, it did not come with chalk. I read that others were directed to “check the packaging, it’s easy to miss. “.Nope. No chalk. I most certainly will not return it for that, but the advertising is not accurate.

This is a pretty awesome slate platter. I thought the price and size were so great that I bought two! I took off one star because I'm slightly concerned about how durable it is because I noticed small flecks of slate on the counter as I rubbed the chalk off lightly with a dry paper towel. It was minimal and I am not eating off of these, so I'm not super concerned about it at the moment. These a wonderful table pieces if you like writing or drawing things as changeable art.

We use one of our ottomans like a side table. Beverages, food, phones, remotes. And well, I'm a little sloppy. This caught my eye to keep on top of the "table" ottoman clean, provide a more stable surface, and the deep gray color goes with our decor. Really it's just about perfect. The only heads up I would give is that this is really slate and the edges are rough and a bit sharp in places. So I wouldn't use this on a low ottoman with small children in the house. Washes easily. The marker is tucked away in the styrofoam packaging so watch out for that.

I have always wanted one of these and my daughter’s engagement party gave me the excuse to go ahead and buy one. Actually two. They came on time and first off, I have to say that they were packed so beautifully! I love that they are just a bit chippy on the edges but smooth to the touch, they are really big and clean up beautifully. I wish I d taken a photo of them all “cheesed up” but you will be so happy you have them. Btw, the closest size I could find to these were at Ralph’s Market in the Harry’s Cheese Shop” and they were more than twice as much for a smaller size!

I bought this cheeseboard for a housewarming party I was going to. I was really, really impressed to get an email from the seller telling me to check the board and make sure it was not broken because they had had shipping problems in the past. I really, really appreciated this because I was giving this item as a gift and I was glad to be given a heads up to know of any possible problems. I opened the cheeseboard to make sure it was not broken and everything was perfect. The board is really, really nice and I think the couple I am giving it to will love it and get as much use out of it as I get out of the one I own.

I decided to try the Stone Age Slate Board and I'm so happy that I did because I really like it. It looks great presented with various cheeses and I placed a small dish of olives in the corner. I love that I can write the names of the cheese right on the slate with chalk, fun! I would recommend buying from Stone Age also because they followed up with me regarding delivery of the product which means they have excellent customer service a plus these days.

Couldn't find the chalk. Look under the yellow tape, it's there! I failed to look under the tape so I emailed Stone Age that it wasn't included. Lewis responded in a matter of a few hours that he would send me other. I found and thought I canceled him sending me another. Got another today! That said, I love the slate! I got the 12' x 16". I haven't used it yet, but looking forward to it. The product is as described. I liked to also add that it is very substantial in weight to!

Better than expected! This cheese board looks very sharp and the chalk is thin making it easy to write with (so your cheese labels look lovely even if you are not skilled at calligraphy). This is a slate board, so the edges chip. However, the edges are rustic looking already so new chips are not noticeable. I recommend storing it with a soft cloth covering.
