Solid - great looking - durable
I installed this 5 years ago and it still looks as good as the day it was installed. This is the sturdiest shower pan I have ever encountered. Heavy thick fiberglass - quality high-gloss finish in brilliant white that has neither dulled nor scratched in 5 years. But it is fiberglass not steel - so you do have to take care of it and use only gentle cleaning products to ensure a long life for the finish - and do wash it regularly so you will not be tempted to use harsh chemicals to clean off build-up that results from infrequent cleaning. I don't think you could beat this pan for the money - and even if you spent more, I don't think you could find a better pan - at least from what I have seen out there.

Great Shower base for do it yourself
Perfect for the do it yourself person that wants to remodel their bathroom. We took bathtub out and put in full shower using this base and tile. Recommend highly. Easy to install my son in law did by himself.

Be sure you really want this!
Our bathroom remodeler had me order this, but then we didn't need it after all, so I returned it. Be sure you really want this item! I got only half my money back, because of the extremely high cost of returning it to the manufacturer. If it weren't for that, I would have given it more stars.

Cracked
We purchased this for our second bath. It’s hardly used and already has shown signs of cracking on the surface. It was installed correctly, we’ve never had issues with squeaking, leaking, or movement of any kind.

This base is very nice. High gloss finish is very attractive
This base is very nice. High gloss finish is very attractive. It arrived well packed and in perfect condition. I purchased a kohler base which I returned. This base is much more attractive. It has a very low threshold which is also very nice. We set it in thinset and it is very very solid. I would never set this base without setting it in mortor. We are very pleased with it.

This is a tough shower pan
I installed this shower pan first of course then put up cement board, red guard, thin set mortar, glass tile, grout, metal shower door frame. I had an old comforter covering the pan during the process but sometimes mortar and grout would get behind and under the cover. With small amounts of mortar and grout stuck to this pan it was easy to remove and did not damage this pan. Believe me when I say this pan was torture tested, by me unintentionally, and still looks great.

Beware of Warping
I’m the type of guy who routinely calls customer service numbers to COMPLIMENT great service, but this is big enough of a deal to necessitate a word of caution.Don’t get me wrong, this pan is a good value for the money (and I recognize that others have had positive experiences), packaging was outstanding, and shipping was prompt. Unfortunately, I witnessed quality control issues with the item I received. If you don’t catch this problem early on, it will add hours to your install. Depending on how much your time or aggravation is worth, it might be best to spend double on another option. I would gladly spend a few extra hundred bucks to avoid having to fix the problem I encountered. The floor was very well flattened and leveled, but it was not perfect (much like yours may be). When I dry fit the pan in place, it rocked on my floor much more than my straight-edge did, but I didn’t think it would be a big deal after embedding in mortar or plaster. When I set the pan in mortar, to my dismay, the flange had a ¼ to 5/16” crown in the center of the 5’ side. Unfortunately, even the ledge on the 5’ side was distorted (convex this time). While the textured tread surface of the pan must be convex to slope to the drain, there is no reason for the back ledge (the same surface that will establish the first course of your tile) to be anything other than flat. So, how does one try to level this? Option 1 is to add a ½ inch shim to each end of your level (to clear the crown or hump), and work off of the flange, or option 2 is to put marks on the convex shelf to PERFECTLY center the level on the convex portion. Unfortunately, even though I was using a high quality Stabila level, I read two insanely different values when comparing each method. The bubble was pegged to the left when I leveled off the flange, and pegged to the right when I leveled off of the convex shelf. So, the distortion of the flange and ledge must not have been symmetric along the center-line of the pan.Since I only learned that it would be mostly impossible to level after setting it in mortar, and since I needed the shower to be completed on time, I had to somehow make it work Since it was warped, it was absolutely impossible for the front and back to be level at the same time. If you made the front edge perfectly level, the back side would spring up in one corner. Since the front edge had to be level to accept my glass-slab shower door, I made the front curb the primary leveled surface. I had to live with a tapered first course of tile on the remaining sides. Since I am using large format tiles, it is the taper is not horrifically noticeable. If you are using a mosaic or small tile, the taper will be unacceptably obvious. In the end, if you receive a warped pan, it, in addition to my warped item, might be evidence of systemic problems with this product line. In my humble opinion, you will not be happy with the results unless you obtain a replacement within-spec item or a different product.
