I bought another box and the opening was not wide enough for my portafilter. --Thanks for your interest in our knock box, which has an inner diameter of 11.9 cm. So normally it should work with a 58mm portafilter. Q2: What is this knock box and the pad made of? --The knockbox is from ABS (Acrylnitril-Butadien-Styrol-Copolymer) and the pad from TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomers). Q3: Is this food grade safe? --Yes, it is. It is not mandatory but we have it tested according to German standards (LFGB). So the box is food safe. Q4: How tall are the side walls? --By way of estimation, the sidewalls 11.5cm tall. The shorter area where you strike to dislodge the puck is approximately 3cm shorter than the rest of the wall. Q5: I used wrong terminology on prior post. This knock box has a built in tamping pad. Will it work with any type porta filter? --It Should. It’s just a very basic ledge that allows you to balance the porta filter. Q6: Is this small enough to fit onto the drip tray for the Breville Express espresso maker? Would like to be able to save storage space --For storage, yes. It will fit under the group head. For use, no, I don't think so as the sharp knock to eject the puck from the portafilter would likely dislodge the drip tray sooner or later.
