Ideal for those just starting to study underwater warfare, but not for serious researchers.
The author has produced a book that could have been far more interesting and useful had he not been constrained in having to fit the story into a paperback that hasn't allowed a far more information on the subject that is scattered around several publications produced after the Soviet Bloc started to see a number of communist countries split from the dictatorship that grew after the Russian revolution saw the end of the Tsars reign. This book might be ideal for those taking an initial interest of the rapid advance in underwater surveillance and the protection of the large ballistic nuclear missile armed submarines the attack submarines are there to protect in the continuing underwater games played against various other countries Submarine forces, that has seen several submarines being damaged in the underwater game of Tag.

Great new Cold War addition
A great book to supplement the earlier ones on the missile boats SSGN and the American SSN attack boats. Plenty of detail as you would expect, with lots of illustrations. A feast!

Disappointed
As much as I wanted to like this book it's more a pamphlet. Theres nohing of real substance about it - not enough text and small photos. It really isn't worth the money
