It does a good job cleaning the crud that is beyond the rubber flippers! One negative is that when you pull the brush out past the flippers it sprays crud all over…. You have to wrap paper towels around the drain to catch the spray! I go through this step willingly because the bulbous end is part of the cleaning ability of the brush! Also the long handle is great, you need one with a long handle

I like everything about this brush. It has a long handle that enables me to reach down to the bottom of the drain to clean it. The side bristles work great for cleaning the sides of the drain. My drain was really nasty, and just one cleaning with this brush worked wonders. I recommend this brush.

This is the greatest product! I put soapy water in my garbage disposal for a half hour. Then put vinegar and soda in. scrubbed with this brush. It's CLEAN! I plan on using this brush every week.

There are any number of ways to clean the grunge from the serrated gasket on the Disposal but this is the easiest.

It is the only brush I have found designed specifically to clean a disposal… and it works!

I’m kind of a germaphobe already, but I recently had to do some repair to my unit that keeps getting jammed. When I saw the repulsive gunk that lived on the underside of the black flaps I nearly passed out! I was looking for brushes that would somehow reach all of the disposal’s unique crevices and to my delight I found this brush made entirely for that purpose! I does the job and does it well. I’m no longer scared of what lives in there!

I had never had a garbage disposal before I bought this house about 12 years ago and so, I never really knew how to take care of a disposal. I never really use the thing but it does get sink/dish buildup in it. I've always just cleaned it out with hot water and ice cubes. It was a mess. Tried the brush based on the reviews I read here and the thing looks amazingly better after just one brushing. I noticed in using the brush that a stiffer handle would make it easier to twist down in the disposal. A stiffer handle would also make it easier to twist back and forth without removing the brush to change directions. Follow the advice of other reviewers and use a hand towel to keep your work from splashing out all over you. I used some Barkeepers Friend cleansing powder down inside the hammer area and I think it helped too. Altogether, it's a good tool and well worth having especially for the price. My disposal changed from an embarassment to a clean looking sink after the first use. Strongly endorse.
