Exactly Works as Described
This product really works. I had replaced my water heater and after about 2 weeks of use the sulfur smell started in the hot water. After doing research, I learned that the standard magnesium anode rod in the new water heater was most likely reacting with my well water causing the issue. I ordered this product from amazon and it was delivered the same day. There are quality instructions included as to installation. It was pretty easy. My water sulfur smell cleaned up in 24 hours. This product costs more than a standard anode rod but it WORKS!!!

Gets rid of bad smell, Fast.
Easy to install after draining the tank. Bad sulfur, Rotten Egg Smell was 100% gone by next day. It’s a shame they don’t have these as standard on new water heaters.

Good product.
Works well. My well hot water no longer stinks. Strangely, my cold water still smells very bad. My hot water has no smell at all.

Hot Water Tank Rod
So far, the hot water quality has been a100% improvement. It was easy to install and has worked flawlessly, so far.We have well water and a treatment/softening system. The combination is tough on aluminum or zinc anodes and water heaters. This coated tank rod has eliminated smelly hot water.

Wow. No hydrogen sulfide odor after 6 hours. Amazing.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Positive Ratings and large volume of response. Content of these ratings was specific, demonstrating hands on experience with the actual product and installation. Manufactured in Canada, and has what appears to be a genuine warranty. While familiar with the concept of powered anode rods to reduce corrosive effects due to electrolysis on metal. I admit performance skepticism and concern regarding the much higher pricing of this product compared to others listed on Amazon, but the cost and hassle of replacing a hot water heater in a home with two water heaters slowly corroding their way to oblivion convinced me to give it a try. The hydrogen sulfide odor that had only days earlier maniftested itself with hot water from the water heater this was installed was entirely gone within a few hours. Amazing. My skepticism is being displaced by optimism. I needed that. Will submit further comments as time and performance (good or bad) experience results are realized. Ease of installation:As luck would have it, I installed this powered anode on an AOSmith water heater, which came with a choice of T & P valve inlet, one on the side and the other on the top of the tank. This water heater was a replacement for an earlier water heater, and the T & P inlet on top of the tank was most convenient to connect to the overflow discharge pipe. This left the inlet on the upper side of the tank unused, which is where the Corro Protect powered anode rod was installed.

Almost 1-3/16th
5 year old Rheem hybrid water heater. First time changing the anode see photo. Installed whole house water softener and filter about a year ago. City water is very hard. The 1-3/16” socket bought off Amazon seemed just slightly too small. Not sure if this was a Corro-protec issue or a socket issue. I filed down each side of the Corro-protec anode to get it to fit the socket, it didn’t take much work. Hardest part of the install was getting the old anode out and not denting the radiator fins during the whole process. Never had a rotten egg smell to our water. Very hopeful I won’t have to replace this anode for 20 years. Minus ⭐️ for having to file down the anode hex nut.

It really works!
I have fought with stinking, smelly hot water for a while now since big outfits came in and started drilling these huge wells and piping millions of gallons of water to sell to cities a hundred miles away and disrupting our once wonderful well water. I had been using chlorine to kill the smell temporarily, but the smell keeps coming back and it's a pain to have to do it on a regular basis, plus I didn't like putting all that chlorine in my drinking water. I looked at chlorination systems that would do it automatically, but the cost was over a $1000-$1500. I had seen this on Amazon but for the price I thought, "Yeah, another snake oil product that's just a waste of money". Boy was I ever wrong! The hardest part of the installation was getting the old anode out. Because of limited clearance the old anode had to be cut in 3 pieces to get it out, but it only took about 10-15 minutes with a sharp hacksaw blade. (Don't use a power saw. Magnesium is easy to ignite and extremely hard to extinguish.) Also, make sure to use a pair of vise grips to hold on to the rod as your cutting it. If you let the cut rod fall down into your water heater it would be just about impossible to get out. Total installation time was less about an hour. I will say my water heater was fairly new, maybe 6 months old, so the old anode came out easily with an impact. I had read that it took about 24 hours to get rid of the smell and that's about what it took. The next day I noticed no smell at all from my hot water. Oh happy day! I am so glad I decided to give the Corro-ProTec powered anode a try. I was ready to spend a ton of money trying to get decent smelling hot water back and here I wound up spending less than $200 to get my water back as good as it ever was with adding any chemicals. Thanks so much Corro-ProTec for such an excellent product. I'll tell everyone who has smelly hot water to not hesitate but buy this now!

Meets my approval and lives up to expectations
Product lived up to it's reviews and claims. Instructions were easy to follow and installation fast and simple for the novice DYI'er. My issue was to eliminate the sulfur smell from my well water. Between the power anode (long-term fix) and adding a bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide to the tank (short-term fix) eliminated the sulfur smell in my hot water.
