Smartish iPhone SE Slim Case - Gripmunk [Lightweight + Protective] Thin Cover for Apple iPhone SE 2022/2020 & iPhone 7/8 - Black Tie Affair

I tried 3 different cases for an iPhone 7 that I bought off of eBay: the Smartish Kung Fu Grip Thin Cover, the Spigen Thin Fit, and the Spigen Liquid Air Armor (the last of which, the eBay seller graciously included with the phone). I typically go for thin and fairly nondescript looking for my iPhone case, plus I feel no need to show off the Apple logo on the back of the phone. Finally, I typically look for a case that is pretty affordable. In the end, I chose to stick with the Smartish Kung Fu Grip cover.For the Spigen Thin Fit, the case was nice and thin, and also seemed decently sturdy. What I did NOT like about the case, however, is that the surface texture feels fairly slick, making me worried that I could easily lose grip of my phone.I kept my phone in the Spigen Liquid Air Armor for quite a while, partially because the seller was gracious enough to include it with my order, and it seemed to do decently well to protect the phone. I liked that the case offered a bit of texture that eliminated my worry about grip. The case itself admittedly felt a little flimsy. To be fair, however, while the phone was in the case, it did take a short spill down a couple stairs, and it looked like nothing happened to the phone. My biggest complaint about the Liquid Armor, however, is that somehow the inside pattern left markings on the back of the phone that cannot be removed. (I kinda wish the eBayer had included that in the description of the phone.) If you read reviews of the Liquid Air Armor, this is indeed a complaint across multiple reviews.The Smartish Kung Fu Grip Thin cover seemed to offer the best of both worlds. The inside texture is smooth, so it should not leave marks of any kind on the phone. The outside offers a nice textured element, especially on the sides of the phone, so I don't worry about having the phone slip out of my hands. The case also feels rather sturdy, so I'm pretty confident that it will protect my phone.

I am highly satisfied with this product! The original reason I bought this is because my previous case (Spigen Ultra Hybrid [2nd Generation]) was a clear-backed case, and, as I have a Jet Black iPhone 7, anything that gets between my protector and my phone is SUPER obvious. Although I had it for approximately a year, the case itself was perfectly fine and showed minimal signs of wear. Even so, I decided it was time for a new case that would actually look good on my phone. I wanted something minimalistic, sleek, and (of course) as black as my Jet Black phone. After spending much more time researching than I should have, I settled on this case, and I am not disappointed. The case feels very nice and, based upon the drop tests I performed (I dropped my phone three times each from 3 feet and 3.5 feet high (the pocket heights of tall and very tall people, respectively) onto a wood floor, and there isn’t so much as scratch on the case.Pros: feels great, looks great, and (according to my experiments) offers great protectionCons: the only way this case could be improved is if it were a hybrid case. My past experience has shown me that the edges of this kind of case case sometimes stretch out over time, and therefore become a little floppy/no longer touch the sides of the phone. However, for the time being, it still fits nice and snug, and I am hopeful that it will stay that way as long as I take good care of it.Overall: I would definitely recommend this case if you want a solid-color phone case. If you have a Jet Black iPhone especially, this is the case you will want. However, if you want a clear case, the Spigen Ultra Hybrid [2nd Generation] stood the test of time for me, as it lasted for over a year with only frivolous scratches and scuff marks. We shall see if this Silk case lives up to the precedent set for it by Spigen- if anything goes wrong, I will revisit this review.

Minimalistic design, but a very strong case!Whenever I drop my phone on solid concrete, I can always be 100% certain that when I go to pick my phone back up and turn it so I could face my screen, that there would be no cracks formed. I've dropped my phone a gazillion times and I never dented, scuffed, cracked, or broke anything. Good stuff!

I bought this exact case for my red iphone SE in August 2020. It has been an excellent case in every way, except for appearance over time. The case is minimal, yet provides excellent protection for the phone. I've dropped my phone countless times and it has never been damaged because the case protected it. It has a nice grip surface on the edges and all buttons are easily accessible and work well. The only downside to this (clear) case is that it yellows significantly over time. I bought it a little over 3 years ago, but it has been yellow for a long time now. I think the clear lasted about a year before it started turning yellow. I liked it so much, I just purchased a new one. I know it will turn yellow eventually, but the protection it provides and the ease of use is worth it. I may buy another one now, just in case it is discontinued at some time in the future. When I took the old yellow one off the phone, my 3+ year old phone looked brand spanking new! It's a great case. The yellowing, I guess would happen with any clear phone case. It's a great case overall and well worth the money.

Stylish, thin and the grippy feel really is worth it. After 6 months of wear, it still looks absolutely brand new which was NOT the case with the Spigen I owned before (had many marks and scuffs). Very happy with this case and the brand.
