Easy peasy
When Halloween pranksters took out about 16 mailboxes in the neighborhood, I was delighted to find these aches that I could use to replant the 4 x 4 mailbox post. I did not have to re-dig a hole, fill it with concrete and insert a new post. I was able to use the old post With one of these post holders and sink it easily with a sledgehammer. It is solid and straight. I gave one of the extras to a neighbor and I am saving the other two to install some 4 x 4 posts for a car shade. They did the job easily and as promised.

Great product for garden trellis
I purchased these to make tomato trellises for my veggie garden. We have used PT 4x4's laying around from various projects over the years but they are not full length any more. So we wanted to use them but needed an extra two feet to get the in the ground and tall enough to use for Tomato trellises. These spike post things work great if you want to keep the wood out of the ground but have the fence appear as though the posts are in the ground. No rotting of the fence posts using these spike brackets.

Great for when you don’t want to dig holes and anchor in concrete
Great for when you don’t want to dig holes and anchor posts in concrete. We are using them for our chicken coop fence. Work just as expected and hold the posts firm and upright.

GREAT for "light duty" fences.
These post bases are perfect for installing fence panels around your small back yard... Especially if the soil is extremely rocky, and also especially if the fence isn't meant to hold back livestock... We have two tiny dogs and just needed something to keep them in the yard. These, a few 4x4 posts sawed in half and several 4x8 fence panels were an affordable alternative to buying either a pre-made chain link dog run (ugly) or having a fencing contractor want to charge us triple for wanting such a small area enclosed.Easy to use and of course can be removed or reconfigured.

Good, solid base for posts.
I used these to support a set of stairs up a slope in our back yard. I found two things that made installation easier. First I used a 7/8" x 18" spade bit to make a pilot hole. This eliminated some of the mis-alignment when driving the it into the ground. Second, as the picture shows I used the Bubble Level app on my phone to insure proper alignment. I would check it about every 4-6". These are the 6th and 7th of these I have used and have not experienced the failures others have mentioned. The others were used as bases for fence posts. IMPORTANT NOTE: the posts were secured to an existing chain link fence system. These WOULD NOT work with freestanding fence posts.
