Frigidaire FHWH082WA1 Window Air Conditioner, 8000 BTU, White

We use this air conditioner to heat and cool our pool cabana. We bought this particular unit because it is the same brand as the one we were replacing. The previous owner cut a hole in the wall, so we were hoping to find one that fit without alterations (which it did). Our other unit literally ran day and night for 10 years and I could tell it wasn’t new when we moved in. It worked great, as does this one. Never a problem until it finally wore out. The new one is working great and my husband and I were able to install it with no problem… It does a great job cooling our two rooms in the cabana as well as heating in the winter.

It's so good I'm honestly considering buying another one. It comes in two parts - the cabinet, and the actual unit, which slides into the cabinet - which is VERY convenient, as anyone who's had to struggle with not falling out the window while installing a unit will tell you. I fully expect that it won't do any heat pumping in the depths of winter, but for now, it's great!It could stand to be more energy efficient (coefficient is something like 3, so every kW you pay for, it moves 3kW of heat) but what can you really expect from a window unit? It isn't any louder than other window units I've had, too.

This is a nice unit and runs with a moderate to low amount of noise. My only problem is seeing the lights/indicators for things like heat, fan, cool, etc. The wording is tiny and the indicators hard to see. I have to get on a stool to find out how I’ve set anything using the remote control. If you mount it low in a window, it might be fine.

Very good AC unit, can easily freeze you out. Have not tried the heat setting but once, but worked well during that time. Love the assembly to put into the window, makes it easier since it is a very heavy unit.

Finding a window AC with heat pump is NOT easy.I have this one and the 11,000 BTU version.I bought this because the bigger version worked so well this past summer and winter.The central heating/air went out and I bought these to get me through winter and summer until I can afford to replace home central system.They are miniature versions of an entire central heat pump/air conditioning and worked all the way to 10 degrees F this past winter.Great units.

A/C works great. Heater tested and works well. Easy to install and really quiet. We're very pleased. It also arrived four days early.

I bought this particular unit for the supplemental heat, but, unfortunately the heat feature is pretty crappy. I can turn it all the way up to the max temperature of 86, and it'll blow cool air. It make take well over an hour for the room temp to rise four or five degrees. Eventually I'll hear the heat kick on, and it'll warm right up, but it might be a couple of hours later for this to happen. I actually don't think think this is a defect, but just poorly designed in that this unit is not made to handle any climates that get under, say 50 degrees. It clearly struggles. The $80 space heater I have does a better job.

Cools and heats very well, and is a quality product.
