ERIC IS WINNING !!: Beating a Terminal Illness with Nutrition, Avoiding Toxins and Common Sense

This book will give you hope!
I cannot say enough good things about this book! My husband (37 years old) was diagnosed with ALS in March 2020 and was told at an appointment in August to “complete his bucket list now”. How discouraging! Its stories like Eric’s and others we follow that get us through every day with PMA (read the book 😉). It is incredibly encouraging to hear that there is hope and help out there! I research steadily and we have started seeing a Naturopath and found out what his (my husbands) body is deficient in, have been put on several supplements and are already seeing slight improvements. Eric’s protocol is pretty spot on to what we have been doing. That, as well as the tips that are “new” to us have been so helpful!*Edited to add, my husband does NOT read and he cannot put this one down! We have been taking turns, as I started before him and we both eagerly wait for the other to put it down so the other can continue!

pure fantasy for those hoping to find help
I sure wish this were possible for more than just the one-in-a-million miracle cases. Sadly, it's just not the case. ALS is a horrible disease. There is NO known cause, NO treatment, and NO cure. That is not going to change anytime soon, folks until people take notice of how far-reaching this disease is and get some money into research or we will never get anywhere with this disease. Look at how far we've come with Alzheimer's. We can do this with ALS, too. In the meanwhile, though, it's all about quality of life. Don't waste time with a bunch of drugs that will make you sick or treatments that MAY work (unless it's something fun like a massage!). Get out there, live you life to the fullest, and get right with those you care about. Yes, it's true that life can be extended if you go for the breathing tube and feeding tube, but it won't change that your body will still be paralized. So many people are afraid to spend their money on fun things as they might not have enough for their medical expenses. If nothing else, take your money and spend it 50/50 - half for fun, half for the store-house of medical equipment you will need while having this disease. There are some good health management tips in this book, but unfortunately by the time you've been diagnosed, you are well into this disease and it's too late to worry about what you've already put into your body up to that point. Eat, drink, and be merry, cause in the end, you'll want to know you LIVED while you could! My heart goes out to those stricken with ALS.

Full of hope
Not sure how Eric’s strategy works but I’m super thankful I didn’t need it. The ALS like symptoms came from limes disease. But the book is full of hope for a disease that still baffles doctors. I’d definitely use Eric’s strategy over drugs.

Informative and courageous
The author mixes no words in telling his story of diagnosis, decline and rebound from this devastating condition. Eric shows great courage and fortitude in seeking his own methods of healing, which focus on the power of the mind, detoxification of the body, and proper nutritional and biochemical support in managing ALS. Mr. Edney provides many resources for a variety of products and services, though it is advised to perform due diligence on these recommendations prior to pursuing; if nothing else than to update the information. As a caregiver and consultant on medicinal foods, I find this book to be an excellent review of one person's journey and success in dealing with such a difficult dis-ease.

Hope for the "Medical Incurables"
Eric Edney is an inspiration for the many thousands afflicted with ALS. Eric's determination to conquer a disease that the medical establishment walks away from is a document of the power of the human body and mind to heal itself without the use of harmful medications, which often merely suppress symptoms. I first learned of "Eric is Winning" from one of my ALS patients and I now have recommended his book to any patient who has an "incurable disease." A true practitioner doesn't give up on their patients, but helps guide them towards reasonable solutions, which may restore or preserve function and certainly provide a sense of hope. I applaud Eric for his courage and fortitude to combat an illness that his medical doctors walked away from and condemned him to death. Dr. Glenn Gero, Holistic Naturopathic Center

Their are other pieces of the puzzle left out
While if found this book very good for someone with ALS-- Many pieces of the puzzle are left out. ALS is a very difficult disease to deal with especially without the assistance of a DO or MD. In some states where ND's are licensed it may be ok to rely on just a ND, but in other states where ND are not licensed, one needs the assistance of a DO or MD. Naturopathic medicine can be a excellent component of the medical assistance needed, but their are other considerations that need to be addressed that only a Physician can handle.

Hard to Believe, but Hopeful
As a friend of a newly diagnosed ALS person (PALS), I'm trying to learn everything possible. This was a help, not only for this disease, but has a clear message to everyone... remove everything toxic from your environment, to have a fighting change at "health". ALS is such a devastating diagnosis to receive, anything "hopeful" is so welcome. Well written, a very quick read, and is inspirational, as Eric outlived his prognosis by several years.

Bought this book for my soon to be sister-in-law.
Read it before I gave it to her and found something on every page that helped explain this terrible disease. Great book and well written. It was backed up with much research making it invaluable.

Okay but a bit unconvincing.
I bought this book when my late husband had Motor Neurone Disease. It was of little help, but when you have a terminal illness you'll try anything. I don't know if Eric is still winning but my husband didn't.
