Tiny, FAST, quiet; A well designed end product.
Re-growing our business as we recoup from the pandemic I needed replacement hardware and a solid choice for a desktop office setup. Our previous laptop +monitor configuration worked well but made for an awkward work from home experience. I've tested 6 models/brands of mini desktop PC's. With my prior experience of returning 2 fake Beelink units to Amazon I had resolved to stayiong with laptops. Then i ran across the HM50.Today my opinion is this - The products from Minis Forum are hands down the best! These guys are having fun over there and in turn so am I. The HM50 was my first test-box. The unbranded Windows installation was quick to setup and missing the bloatware and extra fat installed on big brand competitors. Everything was crisp and clean. I installed our standard suite of programs and devices. Let me tell you. I was like a kid in a candy store. This thing ran 3 times the full set of software without skipping a beat. Through our IT provider I had over 100 Microsoft documents open across all MS Office 365 programs. Our CRM loaded in 3 sessions. 3 video chats. Not one issue.. So this, just for fun, I opened a movie and a handful of youtube videos. Then finally an internet speed test which hit 325Mbps down (I have a 100 Mbps connection). Making full use of my tri-band router. With all this running the Task Manager reported CPUs averaging 30-60%, memory was good, not maxed out or utilizing a swap. GPU good. The system remained snappy with quick swapping from one application to the next. There was no hesitation or delay moving between a slide show powerpoint to youtube to the movie in the background. All three monitors were responsive. Dragging applications across the desktops from one screen to the next did not catch or stick.I am actually on a HM50 now with Windows 11, a 35" Ultra wide curved monitor running 3440x1440 @100 Mhz, music playing through SONOS while preparing it for a new hire. I stopped in to buy a few more so i have them ready. The only issue yet has been the past 2 days in Windows 11 environment. Win 11 continues to remove the drivers for the wifi card. The system shows the card and it is active but the version 22.7.* drivers for the intel ax200 can not be seen. The result is loss of connection and no ability to see WiFi networks. There is a bios update for this unit to bring it inline for Windows 11 hardware security requirements. Minis Forms does need a better system for deploying these files as I found more than one offering. Downloading the files means entering a public file sharing page frought with clickbait. One wrong move and you end up with self authorized browser notifications. More click bait trying to guide you into installing malware. The two firmware instructions sets were interesting. For the HM50 and HM80 the actual firmware data files contained the same code. Installation methods were where the two began deviation. One walked you through creating a bootable usb drive. Had I not printed the steps I surely would have been stuck. The command sets were very specific and not well written. The included screen grabs did help. The other version updated the bio directly from Windows 10 UI.Over all the experience has been great and I am up to 6 HM50 units purchased and deployed. In all:HM50 = 6 unitselitemini x400 = 4 units (requires an ACTIVE adapter if using display-port to HDMI)HX90 = Awaiting release and deliveryThanks miniforums!!

Disappointed With Customer Service!
I purchased this item, Minisforum HM50, in December2021. Since that date I have been unable to use the computer for its intended purpose of hosting multiple virtual OS's. I contacted customer service for Minisforum on at least five separate occasions in writing asking for the newer bios as the original bios has a defect in it which prevents proper virtualization. "When" I get responses from them, which is not often, they first say that there is no newer bios. I know for a fact that there is. I have it, but do not have the instructions on how to flash it to the mother board. I do realize that there is a language difficulty, but they don't want to help me at all. What they have suggested is that they want my user name and password so they can flash remotely....not a chance! If I can't trust them for support why would I give them access to my computer? I would recommend that everyone stay far away from these companies who pretend not to understand English and offer no help. They are just ripping you off!I have tried Reddit for help, but no one has responded as I guess it is an old item and no one cares about it anymore. However, there are the same reports there, but the thread about the subject has been closed. I also tried the support forum at Minisforum and received no response to my request there either.I am so sorry that I purchased this item and would recommend that people stay away from some of these manufacturers who purposely want to act "dumb" when a request for assistance with a specific problem is so clearly stated.

Great customer service
Bought two of them. Customer service is great. PC's well worth the money. Very compact and fits perfect behind the monitor. Even comes with the bracket for mounting there.

Great power for the size. Great expansion slots.

Capable little system...
This is a nice PC that packs a lot into a small package. The Windows 10 Pro install is nice and clean without tons of bloatware like a lot of pre-built PC.The internals are easy to access. You can easily swap the memory, SSD, and WiFi modules. There is also room to internally install 2× 2.5 inch SATA HDD (SATA 3.0 6.0Gb/s) with the included cables and bracket. The memory and SSD in mine are made by Kingston. The 2.5G Ethernet is an Intel I225-V chipset and the 1G Ethernet is a Realtek chipset. The WiFi is an Intel WiFi 6 AX200 chipset. The PC has an external power brick and includes VESA and wall mount options. In everyday use, this PC is super responsive and feels good to use. Unless you have some particular workload in mind that you know will be super heavy this is a great processor. I am accustomed to using a high-end PC. I have a Ryzen 5900x with 32GB and a PCIe gen 4 NVMe drive. I can bang away at websites and jump from this to that on this PC with no problems and I don’t feel held back. When it comes to gaming don’t underestimate this PC or any others with this line of Ryzen processors in them. I don’t know about you but I’ve been accumulating games on Steam since it launched. I almost always add something during a Steam sale. Then I don’t always get around to playing what I got right away and it gets left behind. I have a very large catalog of older games. That is where this PC comes in. I have found that a lot of my games play great. I finally got around to playing Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine with an Xbox controller and had a good time doing it with everything turned on.I also found that it looks like AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution is going to work to make new games that support it more playable on this PC. I was able to download the newest AMD driver and play Resident Evil Village at 1080P with FSR set to performance, textures set to 2GB, and all other settings to medium. It was very playable and it looked and good, very impressive when you take everything into account. If you have a better gaming PC you could also use this system to stream games for those demanding AAA games and higher settings that this system just can’t handle.Another great use for this PC is in your living room connected to your TV. You can game, watch videos and movies, and browse the web. This is where I am using mine and I am really liking it for this use.I was able to locate a BIOS update on their website and install it. The process is not user-friendly at all. If you know what you are doing it isn’t too bad but I wouldn’t expect an average user to be able to figure it out easily. Hopefully, they can work on that for future updates.I waited to post this review until I could verify that the release version of Windows 11 would work with the updated BIOS. I am happy to report that everything went well and I ran into no problems with the install or using the system afterward.Overall with how everything comes together with this PC I would absolutely recommend it.
