takes time to set up. once you get it right you are off to the races
bought them just to see how they worked - Takes a little time to get everything set up, but after you do a few test pieces and make sure its exactly right - you can fly thru some drawer boxes.

Pain to setup initially but extremely useful once you do
I ended up using this on White Oak wood and Hard Maple wood to allow for a flawless corner in my kitchen. Overall the corners turned out amazing but it took a ton of work to align on my routing table. I wish the router bit had a bearing or something similar as most tongue and groove bits do. If it did have this then you could just center your fence to this bearing and that would be it for alignment. However this set does not have that so you end up using a ton of scrap wood to get the settings dialed in. When you do though the lock is amazingly durable and impossible to tell that the two boards are joined. I am extremely happy with the finished product just frustrated with the initial setup. One thing I did that I would highly suggest is to keep some pieces of wood after routing them and dialing in the settings so that in the future you can just set the table to match these patterns again. This means that you really wouldn't have to go through this hassle every time after setting it up initially. Overall I am very happy with the outcome and I would buy this bit set again.

Double check the quality control before spending an hour trying to troubleshoot a defective bit.
This was my first time using a miter lock bit, so of course I didn't know what to look for as far as quality control so hopefully this review will help someone not waste so much time. The whole premise of this bit is that the tongue and groove fit together to lock the 2 pieces of wood together. Therefore, the tongue and groove should be the same width in order for the 2 pieces to fit snuggly. If you look at the bit I received, the tongue is significantly larger than the groove and therefore no matter how hard I tried I could not make the 2 pieces of wood fit together. I didn't realize that this was an issue until about an hour of trying to troubleshoot it. Save yourself some time and just look at the bit before you use it. Because otherwise you will waste your time trying to make a defective bit work. Quality control was pretty poor on this one. The other 2 bits were fine, but I needed that specific size otherwise the miter doesn't work!

First time using lock mitre bits
Okay, so watched a lot of video's on how to set these up, and yes, it took me a while, and went through a lot of sample wood to make sure everything was lined up correctly. Once I got it all lined up correctly, I used it on my plywood furniture project. I had some HUGE tear outs. By huge I am talking in some cases 2 to 3 inches of a layer or 2 of the plywood. Using 3/4" plywood. I am an amatuer woodworker, not a professional, but the tearouts should not have happened. Thankfully, The tearouts wont be seen in the finished project, but Might be worthwhile to spend a bit more, and get a quality set of bits. On the bright side, the joint is much stronger than a standard mitre joint.

Nice set of lock-miter bits
Received the set today. Came nicely packed. Cardboard box with a plastic insert and cover. Not a fancy wood box but should do for a while.Had some 5/8" pine to run. Mounted the 3/4" sized bit in the router table. Adjustment was pretty easy. Set the height using the midpoint of my workpiece and eyeballed the fence into position. Fine-tuned the fence position running the stock vertically that the bevel ended at the stock edge. Ran the complementary piece and the fit was off slightly. Raised the bit 1/64" and moved the fence forward the same amount.I hit the magic combination for my material. The bit cut cleanly and the pieces glued up beautifully.Take your time with setup and use featherboards. Have enough spare material to test during setup. You'll be pleased with the results. These bits are a good value.

They work!
Once it is set up properly they are the absolute best. It makes a strong secure miter with no fasteners. Works great on plywood. But do a search for locking miter bit set-up. There are lots of Youtube videos and articles that will help make it a lot easier.

Have Spare Wood for Setup
I have been curious about this type of miter joint for some time and when a friend asked me to build an urn for her husband who passed, I knew I needed something with a nice, seamless joint. I pulled the trigger and purchased this set to give it a go. If I'm being honest, it is quite intimidating the first time you go to use these bits, but after watching a couple of YouTube videos it became clear how to best set up your router table/fence. I do recommend trying it out on spare wood before you dig into anything expensive because the joint may not line up the way you expect and you will need to readjust. These bits cut right through my wood with ease and I make sure to clean the pitch off after every use. They have held up well so far. I am a hobbyist, so I cannot confirm how they would hold up for professional use. I would definitely recommend these to my fellow hobbyists, just make sure you learn the best way to measure setup before just diving in. I only gave it four stars just due to the whole setup challenge you will face, it's not a know on the product itself. Cheers and good luck!
