Nice start
I love this thing! I have been interested in FPV drones for a while now but just don't have the best living situation to try learning to fly something like a 5". This thing though? Very doable. The drone itself is pretty neat. It seems custom designed to get people into the hobby. I have spent a lot of hours in sims so I knew how to fly, but really had no idea how the drone would react to me in physical reality, so first flight started on the hover mode. Going into sport mode just requires you to now think about throttle, and then going into manual mode opens it up all the way. All of these modes toggle via a switch on the controller, with an opposite switch controlling PIDs via slow, mid, fast presets. The presets seem to mostly affect rotational speed of the craft in 3d space. I don't notice a huge difference in the actual throttle, but maybe some. The tune makes switching between the modes seem pretty natural and can remind me of like a takeoff procedure. Hover off the ground, sport into position, and then acro your heart out kind of feels like takeoff, pulling up gear, closing flaps, etc vs different modes you have to learn. Sport mode's pretty fun, too and doesn't feel too much like wearing training wheels or anything. One thing to note is that if you have dreams of plugging this thing into a computer and flashing stuff on it, they will remain just that, as it's not supported in Beta/Emuflight.My one real complaint about the drone is that there is no turtle mode and the drone likes being upside down on the ground as much as peanut butter toast does. There's a switch on the remote that would be perfect for flipping the drone back over but it's used to make the VTX switch to a different channel, which I have yet to have occasion to need to do. Been upside down a lot though. The frame is pretty sturdy but BetaFPV is currently not selling replacement frames. You could easily put this drone's internals into another frame, but it's something to be aware of.The goggles were the biggest surprise. I really like them. I expected them to be kind of horrible but they're comfy, compact, clear, and easy to use. It's pretty light on features but bottom line is you can flip it on, press a button, and put it on your face and fly, and it works just as easily with other drones. I like the internal battery. For the price, I can't complain about the controller at all and if you consider the cost of the drone and goggles, it's almost like you get it for free. It works fine and is easy to use, but operationally it is a little bit clunky. It's easy to use with sims. I would say plan on keeping this as a backup or something to lend a buddy who doesn't have their own kit.All in all, wow though. As an ensemble package, I could not be more pleased with my purchase. It's exactly what I expected in terms of difficulty level, but about 200% as much fun. Get more batteries.

Beginner drone
Great for getting into the hobby with a physical drone and all you would need to start. You definitely want to get some extra batteries for it. You can only really fly it indoors since it is so light the slightest breeze will make it crash. The controller is fine for learning, however can easily get interfered with. Battery life is pretty short on the drone which is expected, you only get a few minutes max per battery. I would recommend practicing in a simulator.

Return from Colombia is very expensive
The media could not be loaded. I bought a month ago. Arrived very quickly and in good condition. The kit is excellent:- Control: work with other drones- Goggles: low res but work very well. If you want quality video will need to expend a lot more money. This is for beginners- Drone: Small, sturdy- Case: everything fits well- Replacement parts: 2 batteries, 4 propellers, 2 motorsThe drone that I received didn't fly very well. In normal mode would start flying slowly and then suddenly accelerate toward the ceiling crashing. Keep trying for a couple of days until it stopped flying. So I asked Amazon for a replacement. I'm in Colombia and the shipping to my house was free; so far so good. So I asked for a replacement. Amazon agreed to send me the replacement; better, they send it immediately. The only catch, was that I must pay for the shipping to USA; Amazon would only pay US$20. The shipping's cost from Colombia to USA was US$70!!!!!!! And the product is only $170.I really hope the replacement work as advertised because the little flying that I was able to get was really fun.Update 2021/09/20The replacement was sent as soon as the returned product arrived to Amazon. Arrived very quickly. This replacement works much much better. Now I can fly. So i need to practice and practice. It's a very nice toy

Big Disappointment
I bought this for my son at Christmas and it didn’t work. I sent it back and got a replacement sent. That one didn’t work either. The controller wouldn’t communicate with the drone. I contacted the company, and they were no help. I watched trouble shooting videos but nothing was on point. I ended up returning the second one, and my son is still disappointed about it.

Great little drone
This was my first attempt at learning to fly FPV style drone. It has been a great drone to learn on. At first its really difficult. Its not easy to just pull out of the box and fly. At first i hated it, just because of my lack of skills behind the controller. But over time and after much practice. I have refined my skills to a point where this drone has become a good bit of fun. The down side (to any drone) is its battery life, but its easy enough to swap them out and get right back to flying. Its a sturdy little thing. I have crashed countless times, and have only lost one propeller that popped off over a pile of leaves in the yard. The propeller, being mostly transparent plastic, could not be found. Now days, I love it, i only wished i would have bought the Cetus pro version because its turtle mode that can flip itself over when crashed upside down. The Cetus has helped me take a step up in my goal to become a good drone pilot. Ill definitely be looking into bigger and better drones now.

Unimpressed.
A bit unstable and hard to control all around.Bought this for a friend. I've been flying for years and had trouble keeping it still. It promised altitude hold - which kind of works, and is honestly better than absolutely nothing for a beginner, but not like some similarly-priced beginner drones with ultrasonic. My first actual trainer drone was a Parrot Mambo, which was rock solid with altitude and position hold, so maybe I just expect too much? For the record, BETAFPV did contact me to try and help but I don't have the drone anymore so can't really add to this.
