Less than impressed
OKwe know it is 'manual', cool ,grew up using a 1953 Lica ....so more than comfortable with 'manual' ....and Yes camera pinged 'no lens' but takes pictures. The good ... it's here and works (largely)I am fine with the mounting ring and tripod mount method though a double ring would have avoided complaints by others. The bad ....* 'zoom' extending is very 'rough' .... literally one tube stuck in another tube, no thread, as far as it feels not even a felt cushion - wiggles till 'locked' and 'jams up at times' when trying to 'collapse' especially at full extention* unecessarily long in 600mm position (shortest still has lens at 20")* focus .... well , I'll see tomorrow, a couple of dusk pics were 'so-so' .... ok 'bright daytime'shutter at 1/1000's due to fixed F-stop80ft - 600mm ..... clear enough to count cat hairs1 miles - 1300mm ..... nice 'snapshot' qaulity, but nothing to work with beyond the 'snapshot' (*) ....focus not adjustable fine enough (or a design limitation).and the two things that annoy me the most:* F-stop is 'FIXED' / locked to focal length and not adjustable* Minimum focus distance is around 100ft/30m ..... yes ... complaint seems silly, but I wasn't lookong for moonshots , but closer pictures at 50-75 feet (and yes at 300-1000ft .... rarely further).Honestly , it's the wrong lens for me, in looking at plenty and looking at reviews I bought focal length beyond what I wanted ... which was like 400-900 .... likely should have done 300-600 .... so I have something to impress people with , but use very little(*) Though I must say ... attached pics were taken at around 700-1000 ft

No customer support
The tube-in-tube zoom extension movement on this lens is NOT smooth. When I try to zoom, it sticks, shakes and makes a mechanical noise from rubbing as one tube slides into the other. This makes it extremely difficult to track birds and the sound scares away some of the wildlife I'm trying to photograph. So, I tried to contact Big Mike's Electronics for product support. Amazon provided a website and a phone number for them. I started with the website and found ZERO product support information. Next I phoned them around 10:30 am in their time zone. No one answered and they had no answering machine. I was greeted with a rude message that said that no one was available and to call back if I want to speak with someone. The rest of the lens works fine and does let me take nice, clear photos. One last mention - this lens is MANUAL even though the product description says it has autofocus. That's not a dealbreaker for me as I'm used to manual lenses, but it was very misleading.

I like it!
The lens definitely needs a tripod but otherwise functions as designed. I had to search my "memory banks" to get adjusted to manual focus again but the photos are just what I was looking for. I use it for photographing wildlife.

Get a good tripod...Show with this yesterday... The zoom is a little stiff, but overall it is be great for long compressions shots.
