Put this in your toolbox. Lots of uses.
This tool is a huge timesaver and worth every penny. I attached it to a telescoping camera tripod (tool comes with mounting holes) and used it to install over 20 shelves of various sizes on 6 walls in my basement entertainment area. It was so fast lining up a shelf while on a ladder. I wasn’t constantly reaching for a level to check for level and plumb. This tool’s finest moment was while putting multiple small shelves that were “stacked” on top of each other up both walls of an inside corner. Lining up all the shelf brackets vertically up both walls so they were perfectly level was actually enjoyable because it was so easy while standing on a ladder. All the shelves came out perfect and looked seamless from wall to wall. Using this Lazer level was so much faster than putting a level on the wall and putting tick marks where each screw and shelf bracket would go. Easily saved me hours of time. Very easy to accomplish with this tool with the illuminated level and plumb lines. I used it to install the shelves, sconces, dartboard, big screen tv, electric wall mounted fireplace and wall cabinets. I can assure you everything in this room is level and plumb, lol. I use it as much as a conventional level now. I mounted it to a 5 foot telescopic camera tripod. This helped a ton because it kept the lazer level in one spot and all I needed to do was swivel it to the wall I was working on at that time.

Surprisingly good...BUT not quite great
I find the tool to be quite good; the lasers are bright enough for indoor work, and certainly cover a big distance well. The self-leveling works fine,BUT, my complaint about it is that the locking slide switch for the leveling pendulum disturbs the pendulum. To put a level line up high on the wall, I had hoped to put it on the tripod, establish a level line, and then lock the leveler and using the tripod tilt function, angle the level up to a higher point. But when you try to lock the leveler, it can disturb the level and it is no longer level, and you would then be tilting a non-level line upwards!

Price, reliabilty
Worked great to build my post frame garage.Evening and low light definitely made it more visible & easier to use.

Failed at the worst moment
Good product for the price. Used gently/occasionally for odd homeowner's jobs. Yesterday It failed to produce the laser beam. Thankfully I had level handy.I disassembled the unit to diagnose.1. one of the fine gauge wires connecting stationary parts and movable (pendilum) parts was broken (it is barely visible in the attached picture). Most likely damaged (pinched) wire was installed during manufacturing.2. The solder joints quality is lowRepairing this thing requires fine (38AWG or thinner) wire, fine soldering iron and high power magnifier - much more $$ than new laser level costs.Should this review affect you purchasing decision? Your call.Should one expect higher quality for fairly complex asembly costing ~$30? Hard to tell.

Flashing just means batteries are low
I'm a stickler for details, overly so, and I needed a laser level for hanging several Gravity Grabbers (also recommend) in my garage. The project took several days and this level chewed through a set of batteries during it. I notice that a lot of reviews talk about it getting stuck in flashing mode and I think a lot of them are just getting the battery warning. I changed batteries (AA, first set included) and it worked like a charm for the rest of the project and the two shorter projects that followed. The level is simple and accurate. I checked the calibration with a level on the wall after each of the dozen times the project required moving it, and it was accurate each time. In total, the total error from one side of a 10 foot span to the other, following a dozen moves, was less than the width of the line itself. Note, most projects will not require moving the level as it easily projects across an entire wall, but I needed to use multiple X points to calibrate the positioning of another set of levels for each Gravity Grabber (told you I'm a stickler for detail.)

INCREDIBLY Durable Instrument
I've used my traditional levels for years and purchased this level to use for a large multi-level deck build. I have a camera tripod which I used as a mount. I initially verified the calibration against my carpenter level and a plumb line and found it to be spot-on precise both horizontally and vertically.Indoors, the beams were bright and easy to see all the way across the house. When onsite for the outdoor deck build the laser was somewhat easy to see inbright sunlight for only a few feet and becomes more obscure at greater distances. I chose to layout the footers (a 30 ft projection) just after dawn and had no trouble completing the task. Given the price point of this level, which is far lower than many others I looked at, it performs better than I expected. What really impressed me is its durability. When turned off, the leveling movement locks in place, and it has rubber bumpers on all the corners. I accidentally left it on top of my car when leaving the work site. When I reached a speed of about 45mph I heard the rolling noise on my roof. I watched my rear view mirror in horror to see it bouncing like a rubber ball on the asphalt behind me for about about 50 feet. I quickly retrieved it and was surprised that the glass wasn't broken and when I turned it on both Lasers were still functioning. When I got home I found the Lasers were STILL both spot-on accurate. The "out of level" indicator on the top side no longer turns green, but it does still flash red when it's not level.Nicely constructed and well-protected instrument! Would definitely recommend!
