Pro Power BI Theme Creation: JSON Stylesheets for Automated Dashboard Formatting Paperback – 25 May 2021

I have been using JSON theme files with Power BI ever since the feature became available, but I kind of only ever knew just enough to get by and get the results I wanted. This book does a great job of expanding on those basics, going to to great detail not only on how the theme files are structured but also helping explain the fundamentals of JSON itself.It's not the kind of book you're likely to read cover to cover. The first 4 chapters are a really good overview of themes. From chapter 5 onwards it's more a reference book, containing many pages of example code explaining how you can customise formatting for any property you can think of. I only skimmed these chapters, though I've already looked up some specific properties that I needed for a theme file I was working on.Make sure you don't miss the last chapter though - chapter 13 on cascading themes unlocks how you can make your theme files even more efficient.Definitely a worthwhile purchase.
