Looks like it will be effective. will live in my motorcycle from now on.
Very nice light. They come in a small box the size of a granola bar box. Very easy to put together and use. if you have successfully used a flashlight this will be a piece of cake. They have three modes 1 red flash 2 red constant 3 flashlight. The flashlight mode is not super bright, but in a pinch it will work nicelyOne of my Flares in flashlight mode will blink like a strobe light. The other flair will stay constant in the same mode. Not a huge issue but that's the main reason I gave 4 * and not 5.Pros -Delivered super quick -Smaller then I thought it would be, which is nice because I'm using it for my motorcycle -Came with Batteries -Very bright. more on one side then the other but still bright enough on both sides to be effective -strong magnet. works well on any magnetic surface.Cons -Made of plastic. it feels cheep, but if its only for use in an emergency I don't see a problem with build materials -Included batteries are cheep, however they do work. -One flair in FL mode will strobeIn conclusion I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who has a vehicle.

At Night it's really Bright
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Bought these to see if I could replace the million pound sand filled triangles I carry around and had to use last year on the dark deep south end of the NJ Turnpike last year (trucks and cars zooming by at 70-90, no street lamps, occasionally limited shoulder, limited traffic so people are zoned out and tired and not necessarily paying attention.).Background: I hate that the triangle box rolls around goes sliding all over the place. I have an outback now. Last year an Odyssey, so the deep trunk handled it better. The outback is more of a wagon these don't fit anywhere and just trash things in the back during tighter turns, shorter stops. Also, the lack of active light on that section of the Turnpike mentioned left me with my pants soiled and was just horrible. we were in a section where we managed to get more shoulder than most other sections of the road and it was still not enough to prevent that event. One sleepy driver...Nightime:1) At night, these are bright. Really bright. There is, if you look closely, a slightly brighter side (the way the LEDs are installed). But I don't think it would matter.2) You really need 4. If needed, I intend to do like you do and I did with triangles. 10' back, closest to the roadbed, 100' back in the middle of your car or shoulder, 300' back right most marker. The fourth can be used as a safety wand for the driver or a passenger to use to protect the driver or on the roof or in front for when you want to warn some oncoming traffic too.3) Kinda wish the reflector tape was Red? But perhaps the white is better?Daytime:1) Bright, seeable. But not the equivalent of a triangle during the day?? The flashing helps. If you do the 10/100/300 a driver should see them and provide sufficient notice time. Maybe I can find some smaller triangles to store as well?2) They are short. Really short. See 1 above. It's a good thing, makes them easy to transport and bright, but at the same time I wonder.... just don't know if it is a plus or minus, just a comment. Carry backup batteries and test annually. That's all I would add, cause without the light there isn't enough there there... they are, in my mind, electric flares. No battery, no flare.Curious possible Con as previously noted. I really really really wonder if they would not blow over or get sucked under a rigs wheels as it blows past you and your shirt at 70 MPH... As someone noted, maybe add (lead) weights to the base? Wondering if some narrow fishing weights might help. But it is on my to-do list, and considering the cost, OK. Or a hight tripod style flare holder? hmmm... Have to figure out how to test that....At night, yeah noticeable, but as mentioned, I *might* just look for some lighter shorter triangles as a daytime back up that I can store easily. Or just keep the monster ones for those trips where I know I am going to places unknown or known lonely and dicey if I break down there.

Not a good choice, dimmer than the smaller style, no storage case & cost more !
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I have six lights similar to this model. The six lights I already had (from a different manufacturer and seller) are the style with a smaller top dome section and are very bright. I purchased a set of two of this model since the top dome section appeared to be twice the size and I was hoping this would produce twice the effectiveness. Unfortunately what I found was, while the top dome section is twice the size of my original lights and it appears to have twice the red LED’s, the intensity is not nearly as bright as the smaller version flare. I have included a short video clip with the lights side by side, in total darkness and with the overhead shop lights on so you can get a better idea of the difference. This taller flare set also doesn’t include any type of storage case or even a drawstring bag so you have the added expense of finding and purchasing a suitable storage option. I ended up getting a refund and unfortunately, I can’t recommend these road flares. Look for the smaller dome style that’s much brighter and includes a plastic storage case, they a brighter light and a much better value as I found a seller offering the set of two for $15.00 US, free shipping compared to this style that’s dimmer and doesn’t include the storage case for $21.99 US, free shipping. However, I can’t say enough praise for the seller. VERY fast reply to my inquiry and just as fast with the refund. I will be checking the seller’s store to see if they offer any items that I need and will purchase with full confidence that I’ll receive the same level of fantastic customer service as I did with this purchase.I hope this helps buyers make a more informed decision in choosing a battery operated road safety flare.Stay healthy, well and safe during this pandemic and always.UPDATE: it appears the seller switched the model of flare I did my review on. My review was for this light style but they had twice the size of top dome/light section and didn’t include a carry/storage case. Apparently they decided to remove that item and replace it with this (the original version) . This version/model is quite bright and I recommend. Might not survive much abuse and definitely won’t survive getting run over but for the price these are a fantastic safety flare. I liked them so much I ended up buying three sets for a total of six flares.

Be Prepared !
I replaced my older incandescent light powered emergency light with these. These are much more noticeable by others at night. I like how different light options are possible and it's pretty neat they have magnetic bases to attach to your car (as long as the body is made of steel, not aluminum or fiberglass). Their small size makes them easy to stow in the spare tire well of my Grand Cherokee. My only gripe is I had to put a little bit of packing foam in the case to prevent the lights from rattling around while driving. Other than that, I'd recommend them highly!
