Great as a retro emulator
Bought this to use as a retro games emulator so haven't used it as a TV box. However, unlike most boxes that are generally Chinese knockoffs, this is a genuine item and, as such, has Google play, Netflix and Amazon video etc.As an emulator booting from an SD card it performs as well as a raspberry pi 4b which have shot through the roof price wise recently. For that reason alone the X96 Max + is an absolute bargain.It's also very quick, has a remote with a decent quality feel and whilst the supplied power and hdmi leads are a little short, and the hdmi lead isn't the greatest quality, at least it comes with everything you need to start using it straight away except batteries for the remote.Aesthetically it's a stylish slimline little box with keyhole slots on the base to hang it on the back of the TV or the wall if you prefer.I haven't tried streaming with it but it certainly performs well enough to leave me in no doubt that it could easily cope given a decent internet connection

Quick and simple to set up because I had done it before. If you have not done it before get a cheaper fully loaded one

Brilliant box
Brought this box as a replacement it was easy to install the remote is basic and easy to use you can use an air mouse with makes it easier to input email and navigate the menus on the box it the price is reasonable too would recommend

Agreat box at a great price.
As someone who has bought many of these boxes over the years, I can tell you that this is probably the best VFM (value for money) box you can get at the moment.I personally don't like the launcher. It's too busy for me... so I downloaded my favorite and it's now a thing of the past!Everything about this box works well. There's enough memory and processing 'oomph' to get any job done. (Well, I don't know about gaming as I don't do that.)My 12 terabyte drive loads just fine. My air mouse worked straight off the bat. (I haven't even taken the stock remote out of the plastic wrapper!)You'll have to uninstall the Kodi app and reinstall it.Turning on location was a bit tricky, but I managed it in the end.This box is 'rooted'. I haven't found a way to get it un-rooted, but it's not an issue for me.I would like to have had a third USB port, but 2 ports seems to be the standard these days.Great value and great performing box. It comes with a British 3 pin plug! Yay!

Needs heatsinks instead top and bottom of the cpu
Good device works as expected only problem was overheating of the cpu.Installed heatsinks top and bottom of the device as some genius decided to heatsink internally on the bottom of the device.Apart from that the device performs well easy to use.

Plays virtually all files and responds quickly
Efficient device with lots of capability - Only minus it restarts whenever I use the tv remote so have to unplug it - no big deal but annoying.
