I bought this book for my grandson after our beloved dog passed away, and it brought us both so much comfort. The story was gentle, honest, and beautifully written—helping him understand and express his feelings in a way that felt safe and reassuring. The illustrations were warm and tender, and it opened the door for meaningful conversations about grief, love, and memories. It’s a wonderful resource for any family going through the loss of a pet. I’m so grateful to have found this book when we needed it most.

We lost our dog in January (2025) and it has been a tough year. Our daughter was two at the time and didn't understand why he didn't come home. This author knocked it out of the park with this book. This is an absolute tearjerker, but in the best way. This helped us explain to our daughter that our dog was old and sick and that he died. This book is perfect for any age child. I absolutely give this a 10/10.

Beautiful book to read after the passing of a pet. I purchased one for my son and one for my nephew to help understand and grieve the death of a beloved dog. It is a little long, but my 4 year old got through it and says now that he misses Molly but is still connected with the invisible leash. I did cry while reading the book to my son, but it opened up a conversation about feelings and how its OK to be sad. Sending love to anyone who is experiencing the loss of a pet. Such a sweet book that has become a favorite in our house! We lost our beloved, 10-year-old heart dog this Spring and our 4 year-old-daughter really struggled with his death. As adults, I think we get as much from the story + message as she does! It's been a great conversation starter in our home and continues to help all of us navigate the loss we feel.

We really loved The Invisible String book so I thought this would be great for my son when we lost our dog...its too advanced and wordy for the little ones. He lost interest after a couple pages.Great message overall though.

This is one of the most wonderful books I have read. Bought it for my young friend who became great friends with my dog for years before he died unexpectedly. He has re-read the book many times and told me how it makes him feel so much closer to Cooper. I had to buy a copy for myself.

I gave this book to a student in my classroom who had lost their dog! Highly recommend for families dealing with the loss of a pet!
