Seems to do the job.
Was a little more difficult to install than expected, not too bad but had to go to hardware store for some additional foam insulation. Have only used a few times as the weather has been less hot. Seems to do the job in our master bedroom.

It cools and heats!
Very satisfied with the quality of the unit. We have it in a sunroom that gets very hot in the summertime and very cold in the winter. So far this summary it has worked great. Low noise .

Life saver, but noisy
I have a large-ish master bedroom with a south-facing wall that has a sliding glass door plus a 4x7 foot window. This unit can maintain 68 °F in the room when it's 126° outside the door.Energy efficiency? I have no idea. I only care that can sleep.I do have to keep an independent fan running to soften the noise of this unit turning on/off at night. Even my sweet service dog was growling when it rudely interrupted our rest. The windows in my house crank out vertically left/right. It took a bit of fennagling to use the supplied window adapter, but it works perfectly once I figured it out. (I'll edit with directions if I get teacherly at a later time. 😉)The control display panel is over simplified. I was in software for decades and I have trouble remembering which configuration I like if someone changes it.All in all, I would give this to my mom if I lived near by so I could 'fix' it when the settings were messed up.

Bond ac heater
It’s amazing. A friend bought one for their glamping 4season tent as well

Cools well but VERY loud. Decibel chart within -- please read.
I grew up in the city but now live in the burbs. I do everything from my home, if I can. It's a quiet street inside and out. I enjoy quiet.I like Black and Decker a lot. I own many of their products but this AC is annoyingly LOUD.I suspect that this noise level is an aberration. I bought it with the hope that I could cool a single small room during the summer in Houston and use the heater during the few months of "winter" here.It does work, but I had to buy a lot of other tape and foam to seal it. The exhaust system is annoying but manageable. My house is large and I only use one room most of the time. Most of the others in my house aren't home during the day. So my hope was to turn off the upstairs and downstairs AC units and just use my little Black and Decker buddy. But it's SO LOUD. I installed it last night, closed the vents, and my door. Turned it on. I couldn't sleep last night. Kept waking up to shut it off because it was SO LOUD, then was too hot so turned it back on until I was comfortable, then turned it off so I could sleep.I live on a quiet street and I'm a professional musician who turned to programming with a professional studio so I know something about sound. I like to protect my ears. I would like to share my decibel tests with you:My studio, with everything off is 45db.My room with everything except laptop off is 51-53db.Directly in front of the AC unit it is pushing 97.8 decibels with max of 99.3db and that's dangerous.Ambient sound a foot away is 80db.Ambient sound 3 feet away is 69.8db.Ambient sound across the room with AC on is 65.7db.The sound does not change significantly no matter what level I have the fan on.I do not know if I have a broken unit but I waited a month to install it because I had pneumonia and just couldn't do it, or would have returned it immediately. It cools the room effectively but it's so loud there should be a warning. This is great for the garage but not the house. It does work. If I close the doors the room cools very fast. I'm impressed with that aspect of the functionality. If you're deaf this is the AC for you. If your hearing, or a modicum of serenity is important to you then I strongly suggest you look elsewhere.Summary: VERY LOUD! Exhaust system is hard to manage. You're gonna have to jerry-rig something. Does cool one medium sized bedroom with high ceilings very well. Great for GARAGE or attic -- not house.Money wasted.

Heavy, cumbersome, and impractical
I bought this to use during home renovations after my house flooded. I primarily bought it as a dehumidifier and/or heater, not necessarily as an AC unit since we were coming upon the winter months. I have only just recently unboxed it a couple of weeks ago because I haven't been staying in my house until now. First, the unit is very heavy and awkward. It is really difficult to get around. The small plastic wheels on the base do not support its weight and one of them shattered and another came off entirely. Now the unit is lopsided and I had to put a wheel back underneath to keep it level. The exhaust hose is HUGE, making it impractical to use as a "portable" unit. Might as well get a window unit as it would at least save space without permanently damaging any walls. Again, if this is the case, then it isn't portable. I thought I would be able to use the heater/dehumidifier feature without the exhaust because any heater or dehumidifier I have ever bought does not require ventilation. It can be used, but still needs to be vented because one side will blow out hot air and the other side cold air. And the last, impractical thing, is that it doesn't have a tank that I can just take out and pour out the water. I have to somehow move it around to somewhere I can pop the cap off, tip it over like an ice cooler and drain it. The hose is not long enough and wouldn't be gravity fed anyway unless I tip the heavy thing over. I am very disappointed. I would like to be able to return it or exchange it for something more practical. Right now it isn't working because I think the reservoir is full, but I really don't feel like hauling it around to try to drain it. It did dehumidify and put out some heat, though, so in that way it was useful. Although, I had to back the back blower in a corner l so it would trap the cooler air while it was heating the room. The heater works as a dehumidifier as well. I don't usually regret purchases as I do try to read and research, but this thing is just not doing it for me.

Worth the money!
I bought this for my grand fur babies because my son and his family moved back into the house during a transition. He has two big dogs that I would not allow to stay in the house. I put them in one of my small garages and hooked the BD portable AC and heater up with proper ventilation. I can tell you it has worked perfectly both summer and fall. I would recommend this product for similar circumstances and I like the portability.
