Great appearance but too much force required to close
These instruments look great with a nice finish, jaws that mate perfectly, tips that align just right. However, I have rated them as a 2 because the amount of force that is required to close these forceps is way too much. I use Debakey forceps every day for work, so I know how they should feel especially for fine work. The 8 inch forceps is moderately too stiff, but the 6 inch version is way too stiff. I can feel the ridges on the grips digging into my fingers when I grasp an object, and even with a bit of use, I can feel fatigue. This is not the way it should feel. If I keep these, the only way that I will be able to use them comfortably is if I take them to the grinder and reduce the spring thickness so that they close easier. Maybe I received a bad pair, but this was quite disappointing.

These feel and close as well as the debakeys we have in our trays.
