Great!
I enjoy using this for certain dishes. The other night my family was having Seared Salmon and I used this right before we ate and it came out fantastic! Great touch to seared salmon!

Long flame, easy to handle
I was surprised at how long the flame is for the price of this torch. It's easy to adjust from low to high and you don't have to worry about turning it off because it's a simple trigger mechanism to fire it and when you let go, it's off. You can't beat this torch for this price!

Jury is still out
I have mixed feelings about this torch. The first thing I noticed was a number of typos on the box. First impressions are important. OK, so how does the torch perform...? I bought some butane, but it turned out to have the wrong nozzle. The torch takes a longer stem; I bought a can of Zippo with a small flip-up nozzle. Had to return it and get the right one. It would have been helpful to have this covered in the directions -- maybe a photo or two. OK, so how does the torch perform...? I did get it to light, so that part is good. But I want to make sure that it is safe when not in use. That's when I found another problem with their documentation, such as it is. On the box, when not in use, it says to turn the adjustable flame knob clockwise all the way to the right. This is correct; clockwise is to the right. However, the separate directions say to turn the knob clockwise to the left -- not correct. Unfortunately, neither works. When the knob is out, it does not rotate left or right. If I push it in, it starts the torch and I can turn to the right to keep the flame on. So, is there a trick to securing the torch, or do I have a defective unit? I wrote to Jo Chef support over a week ago to ask this question, but have not received a response. My concern is that the sloppiness in the packaging, contradictory instructions, and lack of support carries over to the product itself. I will probably be returning this unit.Update: I have changed the rating from a 3 to a 4. Support did finally get back to me and answered my question about locking it (you have to push the button in slightly and then turn clockwise). If they can clean up the packaging and instructions, it would be a 5.

Is now working.
*UPDATE* The knob is a bit delicate so I have to keep turning it to open or it won't work. Its a bit annoying but at least it works.*OLD REVIEW*Filled it with butane and waited as the instructions said. Then I tried it and I was impressed with how big the flame was. Then I used it for an art project (that’s what I purchased it for) and it worked the first and second click. Now it only works the first time you click the button. I have to turn the close and open knob for it to turn one for only one click. It is useless this way. I’ll try to post a video in the morning so you see what I’m talking about.

If you plan on using this once in a blue moon and want great options
It worked perfectly until it just died on me after a good months worth of use. I only got to refill it twice maybe three times before it just died. It still ties to ignite with no ignition :/ for 30$ I cant be too mad, I just hoped for longer lasting I guess
