Works as it should
I bought this trimmer to body shave a HORSE and it worked well. Keep in mind, it takes a long time to body shave a thick-coated Cushing's horse! The first time I shaved her took 3 hours and I didn't finish. The trimmer did finally start to get too warm and the blades needed cleaning by then. But that is certainly expected after 3 hours! Second trim was over an hour, worked great. It's about the same noise level as any other trimmer I've used, and occasionally the blade doesn't get seated properly when reattaching but no big deal. For the price this is a very good trimmer and if your project involves something less than a horse even better.

BEST Clippers out there
I clip several horses a few times a year and these are my go too. I have larger listers that are just too big for my hand. I ended up getting two pairs of the KM2 clippers so I can rotate and keep them cool. Always leaves a clean, line free clip with great precision.

Clipping Persians
Before buying any clippers, I read reviews from pet store sites, amazon, and other google pockets of information. Mainly I was trying to see how people were having luck with cutting a lion cut on a Persian cat. For me personally, the task of clipping two long haired persian cats and one golden retriever dog, I tried these Wahl clippers due to multiple good reviews for cutting off long tangled hair. I also tried the one speed Andis clippers. Between the two, Andis has a smaller blade head, good for getting around the cats legs and on the belly. The blade that comes with this Wahl is much wider. The Andis has a much softer purr as it clips and doesn't bother the cats. The Wahl clippers sound like a motor is running. I thought with the clipper speed being amped up for the Wahl, it would go through the fur much faster for my short tempered cat. I'm not finding that to be the case, even on the second speed setting. Since both clippers are taking about the same amount of time to clip through the same fur, I'll have to vote for the Andis clippers due to the volume of the motor. The Wahl was nice in that it comes with a two year warranty, but the warranty states it doesn't cover blades (understandable) or parts (inside vital pieces?), then I'm thinking it may just cover the motor part. The Andis comes with a one year warranty.I would say both clippers are smooth and fast going through untangled or fluffy hair. However, in the end, for trimming a cat, I personally would rather take my time with a more quiet motor if the clipping results is so similar. Also, bribing the cat to stay in place with a can of tuna bought more time on the table.

Sad that this product can not be used in NZ ...
Sad that this product can not be used in NZ due to different voltage level while the shipment to NZ is allowed (which is very misleading). After waiting for 3 weeks to have the clipper finally arrived, I need to return it by paying extra for shipping. Very disappointed with this purchase.. waste of time and money.

Recommended for a new groomer or to groom your family pet
These were the first clippers I owned when I started professionally grooming dogs 6 years ago. I loved them because they were sturdy and could handle many drops to the floor as a new groomer. I ordered another one as a backup. I used both frequently. I had one hooked up to my clippervac. I had the first one for 5 years before giving it away. In that 5 years I had them serviced twice. After having the second pair for a year, the on/off switch got "sticky" and the motor smelled like it was burning. I sent it in for maintenance. Shortly after I got it back, the motor died. Luckily I already had a Wahl Powergrip as another backup, but I'm not in love with it.In my opinion they are not loud clippers but if you need to change your drive lever or your blade needs oil they will be loud. These are designed for you to hold it like a pencil. Replacing the drive lever was always a nuisance for me because the hook on the bottom of the clippers comes out and there's a certain way you have to put it back on before screwing the case back on. I never got hand fatigue with these.I'm in the market now for a higher quality clipper but I would recommend this one for someone who is learning to groom or is only going to use it on the family pet. It's a well balanced, sturdy clipper but don't expect to own these without having them serviced at some point. Also keep in mind you will need to change the drive lever every once in awhile when it becomes worn down - that could be a reason it stops cutting well.

First clippers I found that work
I have never been able to find a set of clippers that would cut my dogs hair. I have bought several clippers, some more expensive than the KM2, and fancy blades but they DID NOT cut hair. My niece uses the KM2 to sheer her alpacas and so I tried them on my dog AND THEY WORKED. So I ordered a set and I have not been disappointed. I had several expensive new blades that worked great on them. I have been told by my other niece, who is an animal groomer and uses these also, the stronger motor and higher speed is what makes the difference

Far Superior to Standard Wahl Clippers
I have used this product on our Great Pyrenees mix multiple times and it works like a dream! Compared to the standard clippers you buy in the pet section, these are awesome! They cut through the hair quickly and easily. He has LOTS of hair and this product has a very long cord which makes moving all around him easier, and it stays reasonably cool for a long period of time. The sound is not obnoxious like other products Ive used. The blades are easy to take off and clean. Im very happy with this product and recommend to anyone trimming pet hair on a regular basis or a few times a year!

Worth the price. No more groomer bills
Great for use on poodles. If your doggies hair gets matted, you will have to brush through the knots before you try the trimmer. They will get stuck and pull the hair. Cleaning is easy, i use air in a can or my compressor and the included brush. I suggest to oil after each use and cleaning, to maintain the sharpness.
