My husband grew his beard in about 6 months before I purchased this for him as a gift. It always looked a little unruly and I didn't love it. Now he uses this in conjunction with GRAVE BEFORE SHAVE beard oil and it looks great. I mean, its HOT now. :)I never realized the difference a brush would make in a beard (hey, I've never had one myself) but it is very noticeable when he takes the time to oil and brush it. His beard is softer and shinier.I found this brush to be of good quality and well worth the small investment.

I use this brush for my hair, and my beard. I am a balding guy with medium length hair, and I love the softness of the natural bristles. Most of the paddle-shaped brushes I've used have scraped my scalp - and that really hurts when I have a sun burn on my thinning spots. The Rugged Bros. brush is the right firmness to put my hair in place without scratching my scalp. The size is slightly smaller than the head of a paddle brush, but it fits very comfortably in my hand, and taking more strokes no longer hurts. I like this brush so much I bought two more for my gym bag and travel kit.

I was a little apprehensive because the photos looked great but was worried when I actually got it, that it wouldn't be as nice. I was happily surprised though! It looks cool and really high end. The bristles feel great on my face and beard. I also like the fact that it's not too big or too small. The curved handle and bristles is brilliant too. This is how a beard brush should be.

The GOOD:- Arrived quicker than expected- Works as advertised- Contoured bristle shape is comfortable- Handle indents allow for a firm purchase- Brush packaging makes for a nice gift; appearance of quality- The Rugged Bros logo is detailed and sharpThe BAD:- Durability; one of my major considerations in choosing this brush over others was the black finish and higher quality look. Upon arrival, I found the black finish underwhelming and brittle. I did a test drop from 2 feet onto a hardwood floor; the black finish easily chipped off in two spots revealing the wood underneath. Additionally, I am able to press my fingernail (with moderate pressure) into the finish and easily mark the wood underneath; this leads me to believe the handle is made from a soft/cheap wood. The black finish although stylish, may have been a design consideration to allow a cheaper wood handle. Hopefully this brush will be able to hold-up to water/cleaning considering eventual finish degradation.Furthermore, the pictures on Amazon show the wood grain as visible through the black finish. The brush I received did not look exact to the picture; it was a solid, smooth, semi-gloss black and the wood grain was NOT visible.I deducted one star for these concerns, as they do not yet affect function.SUMMARY:There are many choices when purchasing a wild boar bristle brush. This brush works well, however it costs more than most alternatives. For the price, I expected the handle finish to be more durable. If you are purchasing this brush based on the black finish, you may want to look elsewhere. Per my initial tests and impressions, I don't expect the black finish to hold-up over time with everyday use. I cannot comment on the bristles falling out as I have only had the brush for a few days.Overall, the product works well and is ergonomically designed, albeit expensive based on perceived quality of materials.*There is a card included with the brush that provides a "commitment to quality" and "no questions asked" return. I'll be keeping the brush even considering my concern with the finish. If it affects brush performance negatively I will update this review.

This brush is great. I had tried other brushes in the past and found them to be clumsily shaped, and the bristles were not designed specifically for a beard.The Rugged Bro's Brush is just what I was looking for. The handle fits perfectly in my hand, which makes the experience of brushing my beard much more pleasant. The bristles are the perfect texture, and leaves my beard looking great.A+ would recommend to anyone lucky enough to have a beard.

The brush and presentation look nice and sharp, until you pick it up and realize the wood feels very cheap which probably why its painted over. The bristles look nice but they are way too soft, if you are looking for a brush to get in your beard and actually brush it through....this brush is not it. I do like the shape of the brush and the notches in the sides. When I contacted customer service about what type of wood they used they said it was quality hard wood and not "cheap" stuff like bamboo or beach wood, they did not know the name of the hard wood they use in their product....a friend of mine said it felt like balsa wood since it was really light and seemed to dent easy. Overall I do enjoy the look of the brush, seems like they spend more on the presentation than the brush itself and the customer service was not knowledgeable about their product but they did get back to me. I bought the brush based off of the other reviews but now I'm really questioning who actually reviewed this brush.

Picked this brush up for my son. It's a high quality boar bristle brush, solid wood base that is handle less. The brush is good looking and stylish. The bristles aren't to stiff which my son likes because they don't irritate his skin from scratching his face to hard from brushing. Shipping was fast, brush didn't have any loose bristles in the box. This is a must have for beard care.

This is an awesome brush. I am thinking of getting a second one to leave in my car. Great quality and the shape of it makes it so comfortable to hold and brush. My wife had gotten me a Kent brush, I found that brush way to stiff, it felt way to scratchy. This brush has the perfect amount of stiffness. My beard is maybe an inch long, thick, and wild. A little balm and this brush makes it look AWESOME!
