This is a great basic mechanical sewing machine. It is easy to use and perfect for a beginner. I like having it as a backup to my more expensive machine. It would be a great sewing machine for a child because it is as simple as sewing machines get.

Best machine money can buy but be aware it has a side bobbin. I ended up returning it for the same basic machine with a top bobbin

I love my sewing machine. It's so easy to use. Many parts that fit other Janomes will fit mine too. This is a wonderful machine

quiet simple and easy. different threading process than standard- but directions solve that. Stitches well - I'm pleased. I do basic sewing and mending. Comes with extras- button hole and zipper attachments. The ONLY thing I do not like it's the plastic sewing foot

I was very disappointed. I wanted a lighter weight machine and this one fit but it was defective from the beginning. The thread became tangled around the inside somehow. I would sew a little then the thread would break. Rethreaded and it did it again. Looking with a flashlight I could see the thread wrapping around some inside part I could not get to. Frustrating. I returned it. I own other Janome machines and love them. So just bad quality control.

I was desperate for a sewing machine now, with a very limited budget. I know Janome is a good brand, so I thought I'd take a chance on it. Especially because I could buy it with 3 payments.It arrived in 2 days. I threaded it and had a problem that I was able to resolve. It doesn't seem to like cotton thread. It kept breaking. I changed the thread to polyester thread, which I have plenty of, and it sews beautiful!I have been able to sew for hours with no issues until my bobbin runs out, lol!I did find the light too dim, so I purchased this light strip and resolved that issue.I'm ecstatic with my little sewing machine. I don't need anything but a straight stitch for quilting. This is perfect for me. I highly recommend it. A Very Satisfied Customer!!!

I love this sewing machine. So lightweight and easy to operate.

Bought for transporting and using in quilting class. Does a great job. Wish it came with an appropriate bag for travel (shopping bag) but alas I have extra!
