Inaccurate
This is the first thermocouple clamp I have used, but compared to a bare thermocouple pipe clamped to 3/8" discharge line this reads 20-30F lower. I looked inside to make sure the thermocouple was actually attached to the metal plate, and it was. Squeezing the clamp so that it grips tighter makes it read 10F higher but still way off. I get a correct ambient temperature with it. I guess I need to buy one of the expensive brands if I want to use one of these for work.
