First thing. If you choose "antique brass", please be aware that there is nothing brass about these. These are brushed nickel through and through and the manufacturer really needs to change their product information. If you actually want a brass tone, order the polished brass.Second, I read a review from a frustrated purchaser, upset because they said that these actually take 10, C batteries rather than the advertised 8 - all while they were showing a photo of 8 batteries (huh?). So in response to that, ummmm, my dude, please double check your math before reviewing. These take 8 batteries just as advertised. :)Like some other reviewers, we went the route of rechargeable AA batteries and C spacers, rather than using 8, C batteries. 8 C batteries are heavy and we didn't want the light itself to struggle to support the weight. Plus, rechargeable is always better. We'll see how long they last being on for several hours each evening. Just note that if you go this route, it does make it more difficult to slot that last battery in, as the C spacers are just a hair bigger than actual C batteries.These were fairly easy to install. We drilled them into the wall because I'm not really about attaching a picture light to the back of my expensive frames. I love the dimmable feature, and the warm tone of the lights. All in all, absolutely perfect for the look we were going for.We do have some more expensive, hardwired picture lights and while these aren't that level of quality, they are definitely nice for the money and not the "piece of junk" another reviewer - who apparently hadn't even opened the package - reviewed them as being. They are nice, metal lights with an attractive finish. They are easy to adjust, and one remote will work for however many lights you have, you just need to aim it at whichever light you want to turn on. So no need for multiple remotes if you have multiple lights.All in all, great picture lights for the money!

Elegant and Functional! I love the look of the lighting that enhances the viewing of our oil on canvas painting. And, the varying lighting options are superb. I highly recommend the lighting for all original all original fine-art works.

Quality is good, directions simple, they look really nice installed (bought 2). Takes lots of batteries...keeping fingers crossed they will last!? Quality of light was nice - not too cool, both art pieces look fine, and lights have dimmer, timer, and remote control. Hoping brass finish will hold up being close to salt air.

Here you go:The most important part of lighting artwork is the color of the light. If artwork deserves to be lit, then it should look as it did when we purchased it. This has a very good color. Slightly bluer than true but not that ghastly incandescent yellow or the typical very blue LED. the light doesn't extend out very far so it's mostly centered near the top middle and I use it on a 24x36 painting. I would not recommend it for a painting longer than 30 inches and 20-24 inches wide. But, overall it's excellent.It is very heavy and attaches easily to the back of a good frame. I like it's variable power and the remote is nice. For the price, you won't find better. Period.It could be brighter, but in a darker environment, it would be too dramatic for most environments if it were. And in my experience, for battery powered lights, this is excellent.note after months of usage:I paid substantially less than the current full price at under $60. If I were to spend more, since the price has increased, I would look for one that has a deeper neck so it can extend farther over the picture and illuminate a taller image instead of just the top section.

This picture light is versatile because it can be installed on any wall as it is cordless. It is powered by three Type "C" size alkaline batteries. It comes with a remote control to switch it on and off and control the dimmer. The remote runs off two AAA size alkaline batteries. (The batteries are not included by the seller) The finish is very good and it was easy to install. I am delighted with my purchase.

I've been looking for an appropriate cordless light to illuminate the Thomas Kincade painting that I have in my office. The painting was given to me by my wife, several years ago, and I wanted to illuminate it in a way that brings out the mesmerizing qualities of a Thomas Kincade work. After much research and reading the various reviews on Amazon, as well as on the internet, I decided upon the Concept Lighting 301L. Boy, was it the right choice! The dimensions of my painting are 36" x 28," including the frame. The actual painting itself, however, is 26" x 18." The 18" light is perfect for this size painting. Doing research on the internet, I saw that this light was actually rated as the #1 light in its class. The soft LED lights do not generate any heat or harmful rays that would potentially damage my picture. (This was mentioned in the independent internet review.) Also, the included remote allows me to turn the light on and off, as well as dim the lights, should I decide to do that. One last thing - thanks for all the previous reviewers who suggested using the Sanyo Eneloop NiMH Charger (with 8 AA and 2 AAA batteries; plus 2 C and 2 D spacers. You will also need to purchase the Miraclekoo C Size battery spacer for the Sanyo Eneloop in a pack of 6. I didn't fully understand why, but I did take the advice and it makes sense, now. Instead of having to use 8 size C batteries, you can use 8 size AA batteries, which use much less energy. Also, since they are rechargeable, they ultimately will be much less costly than having to replace size C batteries all the time! Many thanks to all of you who took the time to post your reviews. This product is too heavy given the D batteries. It is putting too much pressure on our wall and is weighted down.
