A great value pedal that sounds good - but needs firmware update before first use!
I bought this pedal for the bass IRs specifically, they sound good and I think it's a great value for a small pedal. I was impressed by the space control which really sounds like you're increasing or decreasing the size of the room and giving it some echo. However while the pedal works as advertised - I have to emphasize that NUX needs to be up front and let the customer know that the pedal is NOT ready to use out of the box. I could not get it to switch from electric guitar IRs to bass or acoustic no matter what I did and I didn't understand why. Only from watching some youtube tutorials did I discover that first you have to update the firmware. This was not so straightforward and the NUX customer service is not the best - it seems they only have a small representative branch in the US. They are more reachable by email than by phone. I downloaded the firmware from their website but it would not update on the pedal even though I tried multiple times. I was about to give up when I came back to it hours later and on the last try before I was going to send it back did it somehow work. Now that the pedal is usable, I am happy that I bought it. But it would have been nice to either have it work straight out of the box as most pedals would be expected to, or otherwise have clear documentation/instructions that come along with it stating that the pedal first needs a firmware update in order to work properly.

Huge versatility in sounds, realistic emulations.
A little pricey, but considering all the options you get and how good this sounds I think it's a good value. Plugging the guitar in and then sending it to my workstation via XLR cable conveys a plethora of sounds, not a bad one in the bunch. Lots of options for Mike's and placement, which sound very much like what they are emulating. Similarly, the cabinet section has good variety and also sounds quite realistic. The amp tweaks are a bonus and give you even more options by selecting vacuum tube types and adding a little bit of tube like distortion with the gain control. For recording in a small studio with just one or two people, and not having to go through the hassle of renting cabinets and mics and worrying about placement etc this is plug and Play and the results are always good. Recommended.

I'm seriously impressed and happy so far
Ok, I'm a total noob to impulse responses and really late to the game. I know. I decided to buy this to experiment with them. Once I understood the potential benefit of not lugging a big 4x12 cab, having to mic it and waking up the neighbors, I decided to give IRs a try. I'm very glad I did. In a nutshell this pedal perfectly replicates the sound of my 4x12 marshall cab. I'm blown away!I miced up two cabs for my test. a Marshall 100 lead mosfet paired with a model 8412 lead 4x12 cab and a Peavey Delta blues 30 watt tube amp combo. I recorded myself playing thru a looper pedal. I recorded each amp thru my studio mics. I used a 57 and a condenser on each cab. I close miced the best sounding speaker. It sounds like the amp does in my room. Awesome. Then I read the manual and figured out how to record the impulse responses. little tricky but not too bad.I loaded the IRs onto the pedal. It took a few tries to get the pedal talking to my computer but I was able to update the firmware and load both IRs onto it. Then I ran the DI from the Marshall into the pedal and recorded the signal from my looper pedal. The sound is exactly the same. Truly and I am blown away. This is the perfect scenario for my home recording and practicing setup. For the Peavey, I had to record it using an attenuator. I have a Bugera. I sent the line out to the pedal and recorded it. The sound is not the same. It is quite a bit harsher than the true miced sound. I suspect it is due to the Bugera. It is a passive attenuator. I suspect a reactive attenuator will provide better results. My next step is to purchase one and try again. But it is a total win with the Marshall and I hope to figure out how to improve the Peavey later.Other things I like about this pedal - super small, no complicated lcd screens, runs on standard 9v 100ma pedal power, the space knob actually enhances the sound of my cab with convincing room reverb, no noticeable lag (only 2ms latency which is equivalent to sitting 2 feet from your amp which I know you already do). it's pretty affordable too. I just wish I had two more.I currently have it plugged into an old amp modeler that I practice thru (Johnson J Station). I disabled the cab emulation on it and am running a plexi emulation thru my marshall IR. the sound is absolutely unreal. I think I will record it and compare to my miced marshall next. I still have the loop ready to go...Give it a shot. Amazon has good return policy. There is no reason not to try affordable pedals now!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS THING: NUX Solid Studio
NUX Solid Studio: you need this. If you play guitar live, you will need this. The way live guitar is going, the amp modeling pedals are only going to become more of a live player staple. This, for the price range, is the best option in my opinion. I play at church weekly and in gigs and record with my band and at home. This thing has changed my life. Dramatic but true. I love amps but in a lot of live settings they’re another point of failure and most of the time you’re mic’ing your amp in the back anyway. This allows you to go direct and have all the options of mic’d amps you’d ever need and it fits on your pedalboard. If you play in church, your sound guys will love you for it. I’ve used this and an HX Stomp, and I honestly prefer this, for simplicity and because I love pedals. The HX as a “do everything” took is almost second to none, but I don’t really want that. I love my different overdrives and my compressor and delays and reverb pedals. I just wanted something with tangible knobs that replace me running an amp and having to mic it. This does and honestly it does it so well without disrespecting the beauty and use of an actual amp when needed. Run it parallel with an amp live. It does what you would want it to do and it sounds SO GOOD! It just does! It takes pedals so well just like a normal amp and just allows you to not have to bring an amp and simply go direct in a live setting OR into a recording interface too! The options are no joke and they all work as promised and it’s just unreal. I couldn’t believe it when played through it.. once I started using it at church I never looked back. It actually made my sound clearer and just better in that setting. It sat in the mix exactly where it was supposed to and I didnt have to go back and fiddle with the mic or tweak a knob or two. It’s all there at my feet and honestly I found my sound really quickly and haven’t really bothered adjusting it cause it just works. It feels like a real amp playing through it and the fact that you have 8 REALLY EXPENSIVE amps basically at your feet with the twist of a knob ON TOP OF having all the mic options and preamp section options... dude.... technology these days... unreal... or should I say too real! Youll want an amp/cab sim option somepoint soon as a player and this one should be at the top of your list. Get one. It’ll probably blow you away.

Not been able to update firmware for this pedal following the instructions provided by NUX
What it does without the update is fine but the missing features make it much less than it should be.
