This was the only ceiling plate cover available that was big enough to cover the existing rusted-out older galvanized electric box. I could go nuts trying to fix all of the old boxes, or I can just cover them with this plate, in about 1/10 the time, assuming that any other option would even succeed at all. This plate is easily strong enough to support the weight of the light that will hang from it. The metal is thick enough to last for years before corrosion will again become an issue. (humid environment). Lots of related fittings were included in the box with the cover, sufficient for a variety of mounting and use options. Update: All three are installed and working fine, and I ordered another 3 (seller limits order size to 3).

Perfect size to cover hole in ceiling and install new light fixture

the drywall around my light bases were not cut correctly and the light base that came with my lights would not cover the hole. These were the perfect size to cover the light box. the only tiny issue I had was the holes to attach the base to the light box was different from the original light base. That was easy to adjust on the light box attachment that came with the kit. The finish and product was great for my application.

Size is as described. We needed this to cover an opening left by some odd eyeball looking light (see pic) that was previously installed. The new light is on an angled ceiling, and this worked just fine with it. One other thing that is pretty cool is that it came with a hook. This held the chandelier in place while attaching the wiring- anyone who has installed a light fixture know this part requires 3 hands, lol! But, not when using the hook to hold the light!I did originally receive the wrong product, more like a 4" plate when I first ordered. It was easy and quick to exchange. I only mention this in case this happens again to someone else- know it isn't that the product was incorrectly described, there was just some sort of product mix up!

This worked great to help me install a ceiling light. The whole was to big for the cap that came with the light and this worked great. Had all the parts that I needed.

Worked for our needs. My "contractor" aka dad forgot to measure the width of the canopy on the light fixture I had and left too big of a hole in the drywall. This was an easy fix that didn't involve a mess or more mudwork.

I had to cover an existing hole cut for a 6" can light. This is a great fit and looks good too!

Really nice quality parts with several options included, however, the lengths of the included hardware did not match up with the cover - some too long, some too short. Fortunately we keep a bunch of hardware in the garage and salvaged some parts from the lamp we took down and made it work. The biggest challenge was the cylindrical threaded piece that the wires pass through - to short by almost an inch. If it assembled properly, I would rate five stars based on quality and looks, sadly the problems made me choose a two star.
