Q: What exactly does "car should be engaged" mean? Also, ? if anyone else has there gage stick at 15 going up and down on gage and any fix?

The instructions on the web page as well as those that came with the tool are lacking in detail and clarity. At best, the description on the Amazon product page is confusing with respect to actual use of the tool. I don't know what they are intending to say with the statement "car must be engaged". This tool is the same as one sold under the Schwaben brand. The ECS Tuning website has a good, clearly written operations guide in a pdf. You can find it on their product page for the tool. Knowing Amazon has (legitimate) issues with posting links or addresses, I'll point you in the correct direction to the use instructions: www[dot]ecstuning[dot]com[forwardslash]b-schwaben-parts[forwardslash]coolant-refill-air-purge-tool[forwardslash]003466sch01. Or, you can just navigate their web site to find coolant tools. I have used this tool many times and find it speeds the process of checking for leaks and filling a cooling system when a component or hose has been replaced. Good tool overall and it does save me time. I have not noticed my gauge sticking. When air is applied to the venturi I see a smooth fall in the vacuum pressure as indicated by the gauge. Typically I will see 26-29 inHg of vacuum within a few minutes. If you have a sticky gauge, you can try to lightly tap on the front of the gauge. If it continues to stick, I would be inclined to return it for a replacement.

Q: With this tool, is there a convienient way to pre-load the the filler tube with coolant so that a slug of air is not introduced in the system?

After pulling a vacuum on the system, close the valve for the vacuum side and open the valve to the tube that is in your new coolant until the coolant is drawn up to the valve, then close the coolant valve and reopen the vacuum valve to continue evacuating the system. I will usually just pull a vacuum, fill the system then pull a vacuum again and see if the system will take more coolant. If you do this method put the air discharge hose into a container because you will get some liquid discharge when pulling the vacuum the second time.

Q: What is the diameter of the plug connector? Will this fit onto a 1/4 coupler for air compressor?

Fits standard air compressor quick disconnect coupling.

Q: There was a small circular metal mesh filter gauze in the box, where does it go?

It goes with the filter that goes in your coolant bucket.
