Meaco MeacoCool MC Series 10,000R Portable Air Conditioner - Powerful Portable Air Conditioner, Energy Efficient with Two Window Venting Kits included [Energy Class A]

We live in a modern flat in London with triple glazed windows. Great for during Winter and we've never had to pay for heating. However, on warmer days the flat retains all heat and ends up hotter than outside with no air flow. Currently with the heatwave the temperature has been over 30 degrees and we've been melting in the flat, unable to sleep during the hot nights. We decided we'd had enough and would invest in a portable air conditioner. We did our research and decided to go with Meaco. Very reasonably priced when you start comparing with others on the market. Also, on the smaller and lighter side when comparing to other units which can be around/over 30kgs. This unit is 23kgs and on wheels so it's easy to push around. We've been moving it from bedroom to living room depending on where we want the AC running. With Amazon the unit arrived in 2 days! Amazing. So easy to set up. We didn't have to read any instructions and had it set up in minutes. It immediately starts to cool the room down. Unexpectedly came with a free window kit compatible with our windows which open inwards. These cost about 20 pounds on Amazon so saved us that additional cost. But in all honesty we were so keen to get started we used the AC without the window seal and it still works fantastically to cool down our bedroom. If you can't be bothered with the faff of the window seal kit don't worry as it still works well! I know some have mentioned that the unit is noisy but all I can say to that is what do you expect from an AC unit. It's going to of course make some noise. We haven't found this to be a problem and we easily can fall asleep to it.My boyfriend and I are ecstatic with our purchase. The rest of the UK will be sweltering over the next week and we'll be relaxing calmly in the cool provided by Maeco.10/10 would recommend.

Ok I purchased this product after reading many comparison reviews with this one coming out best overall ! Firstly I will comment like another reviewer did about the handles on the side. These are clearly there for moving the unit around the floor on its wheels. Do not use these to pick the unit up. You must bear hug it with a hand underneath. It is a heavy unit so make sure you have a capable person to help you. I have now used the unit for a few days and this is what I think. It is very good at cooling down the room and quickly if you put the temp down to 16 have the fan on swing and a moderate speed. Once you got the temp down to a comfortable figure I would say around 19/20 then I set it at 20 and it then works alternating between fan and aircon which I have found I have slept comfortably even though the aircon bit is a bit noisy but not so bad I couldn’t sleep. The remote control is handy to have and easy to use. So far I have found this air conditioner user friendly and it does the job. It does come with a windows kit including a zipped material shield that you can use on conventional windows and I have also got it to fit a velux nicely which helps seal where the heat tube needs to go out the window. This tube although very stiff is long enough unlike reviews I have read about others. Having checked my electric consumption it’s not been massive even with lots of use so that’s a plus. Very good unit, not overly loud considering what it is. Lovely cool air, clears out gathered heat from the day for more comfortable resting.

The air con is quite good amazingly quieter than my last 10 year old one cools my bed room in around 3 hours bearing in mind it faces the sun most of the day and is normally 26 degrees when is put on , room size around 5 X 6 meters , it is a tad heavy and some more thought could have gone in to the shallow recesses ment as lifting holds , it is on wheels so movable ,but it can't carry its self up stairs lol . I would recommend

Used it for just two months and the compressor suddenly stopped working — it no longer cools at all. I didn’t misuse it and even followed all the troubleshooting steps in the manual (emptied the water tank, cleaned the filters, etc.) but nothing helped.The seller told me to contact Meaco, but Meaco never responded to my emails, and their phone line is unreachable. The seller refuses to help further and keeps pushing the responsibility back to the manufacturer. This kind of blame-shifting and lack of support is extremely disappointing.Avoid this product if you care about reliable service and support.

Heavyish and not quiet, but I'm finding turning it on for an hour before sleep is cooling my room sufficiently to not need it on overnight.
