Kids love it, rhyming scheme is a bit complex :)
My 3 and 6 yo love it. The rhyming cadence is a bit more confusing than Rosie Revere and Ada Twist (these 2 have simpler rhyming schemes), so it takes a few reads to make it sound good when I read it out loud. Try to do it in a rhythmic, sing-song way that my kids like. Again - you have to practice a few times to get it right. Fun story and have gotten a lot of use from it!

This is a book that should be in every classroom.
I have read it to the kids at my daughter's kindergarten class, and loved it so much I had to have it at our house too.Iggy Peck is no regular toddler. This one makes towers out of diapers, cathedrals out of apples and a chateau of chalk. inquisitive and bright Iggy delights everyone with his unusual interest and talent, accept for his 2nd grade teacher - Miss Lila Greer. Unfortunately for Iggy, Miss lila suffers from a architecture phobia, inflicted on her in an early age when she was lost on a tour to a sky scraper, and found only two days later, in an elevator, with a french circus troup. Miss Lila declares that buildings have no place in second grade, sentencing Iggy to feel bored and unappreciated...But a day comes - and Miss Lila Greer will need his talent, and learn to love and appreciate it. I was thrilled to find this book at our school, and I wish more classroom had this book, and more teachers read and understood it's message. This funny, intelligent story will be as much fun for you to read as for your children to hear. It is a "not too long, not too short, perfect for a bed time story" kind of book, that my kids cannot get enough of.Accompanied by wonderful illustrations, it is one of the most beautiful picture books I have seen.I recommend it to anyone who has kids in ages between 4 and 8.

Artistic illustrations & story encourages boys to dream of being an amazing Architect
Illustrations are not for everyone as they are more artistic than cartoon-like but the story is undeniably wonderful. The text rhymes throughout the entire book so every child I've read this too, 12 months to older, have all listened well to the very end as the cadence and rhythm of the words holds their attention. The pages are nice and thick, cardstock-like paper so it's not flimsy or easy to tear. The storyline is about a little boy who builds great things like an Architect. If you want a book to encourage a child to not be afraid to be smart and to work hard for a dream or to build a career, this is definitely a book for you! Love the lesson it teaches.

Bedtime is fun again with this funny, inspirational tale!
I thought this book might be a little over my 3.5 year old's head, but I was wrong! She gets the humor and I love that she is getting exposed to lots of new words. Finally a book that we BOTH enjoy reading before bed! The rhythm of the book is fantastic and by the tenth time I read it to her, she had already memorized parts of it. If that wasn't enough, it has inspired her as well. Recently after we read the book she took out her blocks (that she rarely plays with) and built an amazing tower that was almost as tall as her - all by herself! When she was done she said, "look Mom, I'm Iggy Peck!!"

Excellent Book!
We have read and loved other books in this series such as "Ada Twist, Scientist" - and my son is obsessed with all things building and architecture so I thought it would be the perfect purchase for his upcoming 5th birthday along with a set of nice wooden blocks and magnetic tiles.I received it very quickly and in perfect condition and honestly I am having a hard time waiting to give it to him on his birthday next week. It is so awesome! This book and the other in this series are some of the best kids books I have read lately! We love books (we own hundreds and check a dozen or so out from the library monthly so we read a lot). I love how the books in this series encourage kids to follow their interests (even if they are unique) and encourage parents to foster that interest in their child. We will buy everything from this author and series.

One of my son’s favorite books
Any kid who likes to build will enjoy this funny and charming book! It ignited an interest in bridge building when my son was four and two years later it’s still in his top 5 requests for bedtime stories!
