Design Knowledge Management System

Just what I needed
I am a mid-level manager and regional coordinator for a company dealing with the manufacturing of packaging materials. I have to constantly be in communication with individual clients, corporate clients, logistics (which is actually an external company), as well as the employees under my wing. This is a very challenging task and it can easily overwhelm you if proper planning is not done. We attended an online corporate conference earlier this year and one of the key discussions was knowledge management. Since then, I have been reading a little about KM, and actually got so much into it after a friend referred this book to me. The book has simplified the process of developing a Knowledge Management System and provided practical guidance from the viewpoint of an experienced KM practitioner. The book expanded my knowledge about knowledge management and further provided me with expertise on how I can apply and implement that knowledge at my workplace. Thanks so much to the author and would highly recommend!

Practical Guide!
Information and knowledge are typically the foundational basis of any organization. All processes, be it customer management, hiring, or innovation, requires the organization to have solid knowledge management. As an Information Technology specialist and Communications expert, I have learnt a great depth of deal from this book that I believe my organization can use to gain a competitive edge. With the Covid-19 pandemic bringing the world to its knees and leaving numerous companies in the blink of bankruptcy, it is essential to strategize a comeback to help in adapting to the new environment. Such a comeback would be most effective if the organization has sound knowledge management frameworks and solutions at hand. Notably, this book serves both the needs of an individual and an organization, and I found its guides and tips to be highly applicable not only in the day-to-day running of an organization but also when making long-term decisions. Looking forward to sharing it with my coworkers.

One of the most poorly written books I've ever read.
I expected to learn a lot from this book and was very excited to start reading it alongside various other books on knowledge management. Sadly it is so poorly written and edited that it's hard to understand. Here are some examples:A the start of a new paragraph: "The standard could be interpreted in infinite possibilities and I don't claim this to be the only truth."New paragraph. "What does resilience in the name of entity means?"Stand alone text in a diagram. "I am not able to find any search?"Bullet point: "Little ideas, good thoughtsare appreciated an intention are gotten.""Also, it is important to understand, while defining the scope, whichever function or the value stream has the largest population dwelling into a common knowledge pool, that could also be an important criterion."What a waste of money. I can't tell you if Santhosh Shekar knows his subject or not, but he doesn't know how to communicate it in a intelligible way. Also stay away from anything 'edited' by Penman Books (Delhi) unless you want to be reading sentences and paragraphs like the above. Most high school children could write and edit better. If you want to learn about knowledge management, go buy The Knowledge Management Cookbook (Collison, Corney, Eng) instead, it is excellent.

Well Written and very useful. Must Buy.
Coming from Customer Support background and currently in Pre-sales field, I'd consider this to be a complete guide for planning and leading a KM implementation. I'll be using this as reference guide often as our project gets going.

Is this in English?
I'm pretty suspicious of the positive reviews here: the book is terribly written. It clearly hasn't been proofread as it is littered with grammatical errors. On top of that, the poor phrasing often obscures any of the points that the author makes. It is also terribly repetitive: the first 10 pages are pretty much just repeating again and again that this book will change your life or something. Avoid.
