Don't listen to the haters...This works for personal cooling!
Okay , this will not cool a room of any size except maybe a closet, however if you are in a hot room and need something better then a fan that actually blows cold air then this is for you. I work in a HOT office and I put this next to me on my desk and it feels like an air conditioner. I turn it on low/medium and get a nice cold, not warm air , breeze. To really get cold air from it you need to make sure you run the cooling tray vents under cold water , freezing them only lasts a little while. Put ICE CUBES in the water reserve and then add water. I swear it is cold air that will blow out of this thing and keep your personal space cool. I have bought 4 of these for my family .

Don’t waste your money. It doesn’t actually work.
Maybe I’m mentally challenged or something, but I followed the instructions for this thing and did what I was supposed to do as far as I can tell and it didn’t do anything. It just pathetically wheezed out some fine mist and that was it. No cap. The so called fan didn’t blow any air out of it or anything it legit just hissed and nothing more. So yeah, it’s very quiet. Suuuuuuuper quiet. Because nothing happens when the fan is on. Nothing but fine mist creeping out of it. And the mist isn’t cold either. I don’t know how you’re supposed to get cooled off just by looking at a creepy fine mist leaking out of a useless contraption but…ok. If that’s how it’s supposed to work I must be doing something wrong. I did not get cooled off by looking at the mist. I must be broken. Oh, and don’t even think about using it without freezing the filter or adding ice because then it becomes even more useless than it already is. Wait, those things don’t actually help. Lmao my bad. It doesn’t work no matter what you do. But hey, if I just happened to get a defective product and that’s why nothing happened when I used mine I will gladly retract my review and post a new one. Maybe mine was just defective? I hope that’s the case because I would hate for other people to also spend money on this thing if it doesn’t actually do anything.

Little plastic swamp cooler.
IF it lasts, it will be barely worth the money. I have to route all the house AC to one room, closed, for about 30 minutes, then start this thing up, filled with water and ice, and a soaked and frozen filter. Helps keep the room cool a while longer after turning off the main AC. Really works best if pointed in the direction you are going to be. They say it has four speeds, but unless OFF is one of them, mine only has three. Should cost about half as much. Hate staying in one room all the time, but that's the only way this thing is any good at all. Not truly portable, as it's AC powered, no usb, no battery. Tried three different brands, though, and this one is the best of the three, you just have to be right in front of it to feel any real cool. Pretty much limits one to reading, writing, playing video games or sleeping. Update: The thing just quit working the other day, just shut down while it was in use, can't get it going again. So I got ONE summer's use out of it and a few weeks this year. If you buy it, you might want to get the warranty for $4.99, because you never know how long it will last. I had one (same model) before this, that one burned out even quicker than this one, but managed to get a refund (bought from original company.)

It is effective in keeping you cool. I
I was skeptical at first hard to believe it could do as it says, I was anxious to try it out after watching a review show on you tube about theese small personal coolers, I learned they are NOT A/C units They are evaporative coolers and work like a swamp cooler,, It definatley does cool you off I often have to turn it off because I get too cold,,but it does not cool off the room much if at all,, it does work great if it's close to you and pointed at you,,,I rated it low like that because of some things it doesn't do as said, like the water chamber/ holder can last all day, not for me it would last a long time but I had to fill it more than one time a day, I did 2 times if on all day,, the other reason I rated it low is because of how loud it is, It is so loud, but luckily I'm not bothered by noise, but I can see alot of people having a issue with how loud it is its a loud swoosh blowing air with mechanical sound,, I don't know if you have heard a cpap machine turned on with out putting it on your face it sounds like that but louder, I Love the nite light and diffrent colors and I like that it has 3 settings, high, medium and low,, I do love this little cooler and have been using it every day since I purchased it,, another thing I read because it's a evaporative cooler you need to have a window open near for the?? to escape? You will have to read up on that I don't understand how some things work but I get what there trying to say, so opening a window obviously isn't going to help keep the room cool, but it will definatley cool you off, also I like how light weight and easy it is to bring with you if your going to family or friends,, and they are not hot like you ( are all the time) or they don't have a/c or a fan,, so it's very convenient and has a very long cord,
