Pentair Intelliconnect Smart Control & Monitoring System 523317

This setup is affordable. On paper it looks like it should work great. But the app is buggy and I had a hard time getting it to link up to my WiFi (and I was using 2.4Ghz band as required). I tried it for a few days and finally just gave up and returned it.

The idea is great, and the price is great. I use it to control my Pentair IntelliFlo pump and my heater from my phone. It works really well, though the app is occasionally slow or laggy. For the few times a week I use it, I take my time, and for a small investment I don't have to walk out to my equipment to control it!

I like the idea but the execution is terrible. I finally installed this unit as instructed. It worked okay with the Link2o app (even though not intuitive or responsive). Then I transitioned to Pentaie Home app (as instructed). It had a much better interface. It worked fine for a few days. Then the booster pump kept turning on on its own. I emailed Pentair support with no response. So I deleted my setup from both apps. Reinstalled on new Home app only. Worked great for a few days again. But this time the pool pump kept on going on and off on its own. So I was forced to take it out and put my old mechanical timer back in.I think their app has bugs. Some of which I could live with but others bugs could really cause damage (e.g. booster pump running while pool pump is not). I Hope to hear back from tech support but not holding my breath.For now I would avoid this controller. Good luck.

I had this installed about a year ago and it initially worked great. For the past 4-5 months we have started having problems and noticing the pump will not turn off at the selected time and runs nonstop. When this occurs the Intelliconnect Salt system, heater, and lights will not work and we are unable to gain control of the system from the Intelliconnect panel or that Pentair app. In order to regain control of the system to turn off the pump we have to reset the pool pump breaker from the main electric panel. We were out of town and the pool pump was running nonstop for 4 days. Pentair customer service has not been helpful in resolving this issue. This has become so annoying that we just went back to the mechanical timer.

I purchased this and it was great for the first week but you can’t rely on it. Great value aside, the software and connection bugs are the worst of any connected product I’ve added in my home. I even had Fios come out and wire repeater next to it. The core idea and simplicity is great! But their software and hardware team should be fired for releasing an untested product like this. I will be upgrading to a more stable system from another brand for next season.

I bought this because it says it works with an intellichlor. I have an intellichlor and it doesn't work.So AFTER my electrician cuts the wire, and notices that the number of wires is different he calls Pentair."The Intelliconnect system is compatible with both models of our salt cells, the Ichlor 15 or 30 when using the intellichlor power center, part number 520556 and the intellichlor ic20, ic40, ic60 all of which will also use the same power center, part number 520556. If you have an ic15 that will not work with the intelliconnect, nor will the ichlor15 if you are using it with the 110vac power pack that it can be purchased with." Makes a lot of sense.
