JAPONESQUE Precision Concealer

Japonseque always have amazing quality brushes and I can confirm that the product I received was authentic. Being a make-up enthusiast I love high quality brushes as I feel they really make a difference to make-up application. This brush delivered. The bristles are extremely soft however, it is also dense enough to be effective. I believe the best use of this brush is highlighting or removing excess powder underneath the eye. The long handle of this brush also makes it extremely easy to hold and does not feel uncomfortable in my hand. Fan brushes are not often included in make-up brush sets. However, I feel this brush is essential for any make-up enthusiasts.

I love this brush, it's so different and does an excellent job of what it claims to do, a sheer sweep of colour, not carefully blended and buffed blush or bronzer but an airbrush- like veil of colour to give a suggestion rather than a shout of colour. If you struggle to get a subtle wash of colour with a traditional brush or blend effectively this might be a good addition to your face kit.It's an excellent quality brush with plenty of soft bristles yet holding some stiffness so application isn't wishy washy. The bristles are tightly packed into the ferrule and have not shed even after washing.The handle is wrapped with coated wisteria, yes it sounds odd but it's not uncomfortable to hold at all and is very tight to the barrel though I can't see it lasting years.This I find excellent paired with a good quality bronzer (ie not orange based) or a pinky complexion powder for adding a sheen of colour to replicate a healthy outdoors but not baking in the sun look. Lightly load the long, firm but gently yielding bristles with powder product, tap off excess and sweep in one movement from nose corner to temples and across the top of the forehead.It is also a great brush to choose with a non glittery highlighter to add a dewy natural glow to your base without going for the 'strobe' look with a light single movement over the cheekbones.I have a huge collection of brushes from cheap but excellent to embrassingly expensive and a slight addiction to trying new ones, so to control the collection only what is good gets to stay, this is excellent for my needs (I'm super pale so packing on colour powder can make me look like coco the clown) and is unique in my collection so this will be a well loved brush.

JAPONESQUE Kumadori Fan BrushMost of my make-up brushes are by MAC and I hadn't come across Japonesque cosmetics or make-up tools before. This particular brush is part of the brand's Kumodori collection, named after the stage makeup worn by kabuki actors, which is typically brightly colored stripes or patterns over white foundation arranged to symbolize aspects of character's personality. So far as I can tell, this US-based company has nothing whatsoever to do with Japan and Japanese references are merely a gimmick.
