The right tool and the right price.
Great value for money. A very inexpensive gadget that adds the right amount of light for close up photography.

Nice Little Ring Flash and the Price is Right
This is a nice little ring flash and the price is right. I mean how can you not buy it? It works albeit a little over poweringly. That can be modified by physically moving the camera farther from the subject. It also has a range of intensities. use it mostly with a zoom lens. It comes with adapters for almost every lens you own. The adapters I tried worked perfectly. I would have given it five stars but the instructions are almost incomprehensible. Definitely written by someone whose native tongue is not English. It's not that difficult to figure out but it would still be nice to be able to know how to handle a nyproblem you might have. You'll be on your own there. If you ever wanted to try a ring flash but thought it wouldn't get much use and you didn't want to spend the bucks, here's your chance to own one. I can't compare it to other ones but it certainly works for me and there have been quite a few times it has come in handy.

Bought two and neither ever worked
Thought it was the batteries but when neither worked I found I had missed the refund window. Run away!

Manual ring flash, but batteries die
The flash goes off when I take a picture (good), but the amount of light does not seem to depend on the aperture or shutter speed or distance to the subject (bad). So it's not an automatic TTL flash; well, it's cheap. I guess it can be used by manual setting; the guide number (distance x aperture) is listed as 15 in the minimal (and non-native English) instructions (presumably, meters at 100 ISO). On my Lumix FZ80, the light flash amount is very weak, while on my Pentax Q, it often does not flash at all. Also, I have had two sets of brand new batteries go dead after a few weeks with the flash turned off. So it may be a requirement to remove them during non-use periods, rather than the mere suggestion for same in the instructions. Otherwise, the item looks OK (clean plastic finish), and the buttons do what they say. I will probably use it in lit-up mode rather than flash mode, and let my camera's light meter measure the illumination.

nice and clean product
nice and clean product, but not strong enough for anything meaningful. Nothing wrong with the product, but for a professional photographer, it was a turn off. I knew buying it though that I was just trying it out for size.

Perfect for the budget minded
Perfect for the budget mindedThe ring flash has 32 LED's and has a cool-white look (fairly neutral)In flash-mode on my Nikon D-600, the results seemed somewhat unpredictableIn continuous light mode, the ring-light is awesome and I like it as you can see what the photo will look likeYou can adjust the brightness and can illuminate the whole ring , left or right sideMainly used it for flowers and insects photographyThe lens ring selection is awesome and unlike other vendors, this one comes with a 77mm ring for my beloved AF-S VR 70-200mm lensI had no problems with vignetting but I assume this could occur on wide angle lensesAs others have mentioned, the rings are plastic and you have to be very careful to not cross-thread the ringsThe only drawback is that once the ring is on, your lenscap will no longer fitConsidering the price, it is a keeper!

Gets the job done, but cheaply made
The light works as promised, but the plastic information display fell out within an hour of use. I tried to glue it back in, but wound up using tape. You need some way to diffuse the light or you get hotspots. This is definitely a case of you get what you pay for.

You get what you pay for.
The light ring works ok. Once the batteries are installed, one needs to hold the "On" button down for several seconds to have the device ready to go. I was expecting when the "on" button was push the device should have shown it was ready. The adapter rings that allow you to attach the light ring to the camera lens come in the most common sizes, the problem is they are made out of plastic. I was expecting the adapter rings to be metal, because the plastic rings are hard to screw on and stick when putting them on and taking them off the lens. The most problematic thing is when taking a picture the corners get clipped so you get an image that looks like you are shooting through a tube (circular). There was no engineering to eliminate the clipping. If you use a zoom lens you can get past the clipped corners. For the amount of time I will use the light ring the work around makes this device useful at an affordable price.
